For brides who got screwed over by Navy Bistro's closing...

Let's start a thread to help them figure out places that might still be available and fit their needs. Maybe it would help to figure out what size places and dates are needed?

I'll start: I would try either Cambridge or Parkway place and they have a calendar available to let you know when they are booked or free:
http://parkwayplace.biz/calendars.asp

Or, try local country clubs-- I believe Tamaron and Stone Oak were previously suggested. Also try Heatherdowns Country Club.

Try local church halls, like St. Clement off of Tremainsville: http://www.projectwedding.com/vendor/show/st-clement-s-reception-hall; Our Lady of Lourdes; I know there are others too but I can't think of them.

Who else has suggestions?

I suggested Stone Oak before, but I have two more suggestions.

Lakeview Banquet Hall in Rossford is nice.  I wasn't a huge fan of all of the union paraphenelia (sp?) in the lobby, but the hall itself is nice with a stunning view.

I think Monclova Community Center has a nice room in the back, but it is a very different facility than Navy Bistro.

Without knowing your budget or guest lists, I don't know if these will work, but here are some potential ideas....

    Sullivan Center at Gesu
    Electrical Industry Hall in Rossford
    Franciscan Center at Lourdes College
    The Event Center
    Valentine Theatre
    Centennial Terrace
    Toledo Skyway Marina
    Mansion View Inn
    Toledo Country Club

(All of those should be clicky links to go to their websites too :) )

I looked at mudhens they have a room overlooking the ball park. I thought it was very cool with the views of the city. the hockey arena i think has something similar too.

The arena has a really nice area on the upper level for parties.  My husband works for the Mudhens so we have been to some events up there.  We actually briefly considered it for our reception.  Our issue was that the bar is smack dab in the middle of the room, so your guests would be separated if you used the whole area.

The room at 5/3 Field is nice, we obviously didn't even look into it though.  No one wants their wedding reception at their workplace!

thanks girls! all of your help is truely appriciated!  i will be checking into these tomorrow! today i visited the hilton in toledo, the mount vernon room and glass city board walk... the boardwalk is not as fancy as the other places but they dont charge that 19% service charge everyone else does which is alot of help and allows for extra money to spend on lighting and ceiling decor. if anyone needs info you can e-mail me at awalker213@yahoo.com and i can forward you all of the information i have received from venues that i have looked at. Tameron is booked every saturday until october, stone oak is reasonable. ill be in touch!

A friend of mine is one of those poor brides that got hit with this awful news.  She is using April at Your Perfect Day to help her find a new venue.  April was the one that was on Fox 36 news and in the Toledo Blade discussing this situation and what she can do to help all the brides that are affected by it.  April provided my friend with a FREE list of 40 venues in Toledo that have good reputations and are similar to the Navy Bistro.  April is was our wedding planner and was great to work with.  You can contact her at yourperfectdayllc@gmail.com

We were one of the unlucky couples. We're going with Highland Meadows in Sylvania. Lisa has been great to work with so far.
