Table Help

When guests arrive to our reception there will be a table where they enter the tent. On this table I was planning to put the guest book. It seems silly to have a separate table for the card box and gifts, is it okay to have them both on the same table as the guest book? The table is not huge, but how many guests actually bring a gift to a wedding these days? I am trying to figure out how many tables I will need to rent.

TIA!

Re: Table Help

  • I think you would be just fine to have both at the same table.  I think you are right with the presents and just not very many people bring gifts anymore.  Besides...if you did get overload (woohoo!) you could just set them on the floor or have someone take them to another room.  At the weddings we've been to, most have guestbook and gift box at the same table.

  • I think 1 table is plenty! I don't see why you need more than that PLUS it will be easily accessible for all guests and they will know exactly where to put them.
  • I agree with the one table. I don't think people bring gifts to weddings anymore, and if they do, I doubt it will be many. But if you do, people will know where to put them. :)
  • Agree with PPs, one table. Plus, most wedding gifts tend to be heavy and it will be nice for them to be able to drop it off immediately vs. looking around for the table.

  • We're using only one table for both so when you walk up the stairs there will be a 8foot banquet table with the guestbook and card box. I think it'll be just fine!

  • I think that will be fine.

  • I think it will be fine.  Especially if you have to rent them, don't spend more money than you need!
