Best/Worst Shops for Bridesmaid Dresses?

Hello Ladies :) So 2 of my bridesmaids and I are going dress shopping in two weeks and I want to map our places to look & try on bridesmaid dresses. One is flying in and one works the next day so I really want to maximize our time in one Saturday.

Things I'm taking into consideration:
- The girls will be wearing teal dresses. The best description is Tiffany Teal since that seems to be the most recognized in the wedding industry.
- All the girls are different heights & body shapes, so one sillohuette won't work.
- 2 of 4 (maaaaybe 5) are local. The others are out of town.

So having said that, a place that has teal and an array of dresses to choose from from the same designer, and is reasonably priced...I'd say $200 and less.

Where should we visit and where should we skip?? Thank you so much for your help!!!

    Hi Char!!

Try Twist - It's in Hilton Village (scottsdale rd and mcdonald). All they do is bridesmaid dresses.

I'm actually going to go in this weekend I think so I will let you know how it goes!

We are getting our BM dresses from The Wedding Accessory Superstore. Its off Cave Creek and 101. They have a lot of dresses from a bunch of different designers.
Oh and if you find one you like in the store dont buy it there. Go on their website and buy it. Everything is discounted on there for some reason. In the store the BM dress we are looking at is $165 but on the website it is $118. You can get free shipping if you ship it to the store. Also they will still size the girls there. Once your girls place their order online it has a spot where it says "wait for more". They will process the order once all your girls place their order.

Thank you for asking this question Chargiss!  I need to go shopping with the bridesmaids when I'm in town next month and have no idea where to go!  I would like to stay away from David's Bridal (because last time I went in there, they were SO rude!), but I have no idea where to go!  I'm definitely going to steal these suggestions :)

It is actually Twirl :-)  Just a heads up, they are very expensive.  I got a bridesmaids dress there once and it was about $350.  That was before alterations!

If you have bridesmaids all over I would pick a store or brand that they carry everywhere.  Like Davids Bridal, or if you do not like them try Dessy or Alfred Angelo, both of which are carried at a lot of different stores and have a wide variety of colors, styles and sizes.

I am still trying to figure this out too. The way I am going about it, was I asked all my bridesmaids to look at all the designers and dresses and see if there were any dresses/designers in particular that they really liked and to let me know. Then I will choose the stores that cary those designers.

I know azteca has almost every designer, but I have never heard anything good about them. I am hoping my strategy works haha.

My bridesmaids are all over the country as well. I'm telling them a fabric and color, and letting them order from J Crew. More than likely they won't need alterations so the cost is about the same as from another Company and I know they can all order from J Crew online. I've also looked at Ann Taylor and Black House White Market and a few more stores, J Crew was the only one with the color I need :)

I went through David's Bridal because they have quite a selection for very good prices. However, I agree that the staff is very rude there. The girls always seem to be bothered by questions, but if you can see past that you will get the best deals IMO

My bridesmaids are from all over the country as well, and I used David's Bridal since they are all over the US.  I gave them a variety of dresses to choose from, and it was a piece of cake--plus affordable.  A couple of bridesmaids only paid $80.

Brides by Demetrios in Scottsdale has a nice selection. So does Azteca. They carry Alfred Angelo, which has just about every color under the sun. I just went to a wedding that did a mix and match with Alfred Angelo dresses and the girls looked fantastic! They also have seperates if that interests you. I am a fan of Azteca and got my wedding dress there, but the bridesmaids dress part is a little more low key. I wouldn't go there if you're expecting a ton of help/customer service. I actually got my bridesmaids' dresses at Suzanne's Bridal in Gilbert. They were by far the least expensive I have found. The first thing I would ask when you walk in is, which lines do not carry your color. That way you can weed out what isn't going to work and prevent yourself from falling in love with a dress and finding out it doesn't come in teal. Good luck and have fun!

Oh and all my girls are out of town so we just ordered them through the store and I am going to ship them to the girls once they arrive. The reason for ordering them all through the same store is that you can be sure the color will be exactly the same for all of them because they will come from the same dye lot. Just something to keep in mind!

I have bought bridesmaids' dresses at David's and this wasn't a problem, though. I avoided David's because I found higher quality dresses for the same prices and I haven't been happy with them as a bridesmaid in the past.

we got ours at Azteca...wasn't thrilled with their service (I waited an hour in line  to place the order) but they do have a huge selection.

We went to Suzannes in Gilbert...and only one out of 7 bridesmaids are here; so we went with the designer Jasmine and they can all get them close to where they live.
I updated my bio on 06/24/10, however if you want to see my planning bio you have to go to www.lizardlipsplanningbio.weebly.com because I am having a hard time making it clicky!

David's Bridal has dresses at reasonable prices...but customer service is HORRIBLE.

    Brides by Demetrios is $$$$$$$$$

I went with Davids only because I also have people all over country and it was the only way to easily do it in under 7 months. They are rude all over the country! My MOH left swearing under her breath while I was on the phone with her.

If I had more time I would have gone with a direct order from Alfred Angelo or Dessy. Impressions is great line too.

Cave Creek Superstore will give you the same price in store as online they just don't mention up front and I found there store very hard to locate dresses in.

Priscilla of Boston (located at Fashion Square) also has some great BM dresses with quite a few under $200.
