  • First, we need to know what you've been doing so far.

  • What have you tried?

Check Anna's sticky at the top of the board and begin counting your calories on a site like MyFitnessPal.

  • the best tip i can give is to make a LIFESTYLE change. not a diet. not a 'goal'. make a CHANGE. and make it a habit.

a few easy tips to get you started:
    1.  recognize that a calorie is a unit of energy and isn't inherently bad for you.  eating less calories does not always mean more weight loss. 1000 calories of mcdonalds is a heck of a lot more unhealthy (and a lot less food) than 1000 calories of say, fresh fruit, and a homemade grilled chicken salad.  you'll feel a LOT better eating the 2nd choice, because you're giving your body GOOD units of energy to use instead of fat and grease and all sorts of gross things.
    2. Go fresh and homemade as much as possible.  This way you can control things like fat vs oil and adjusting to lower sodium.  A lot of 'healthy' packaged foods contain preservatives, and don't really help you out at all.
    3.  Try new activities and exersizes.  The same routine will bore you and your body.  Walk one day, jog the next, bike the next, etc. change it up and keep it FUN!  I use the nike traning club app with their 15 minute workouts, and then i'll put on some ipod music and dance around the house. silly, but fun!
    4. eat small-ish meals, and only eat when you're hungry.
    5. start slow.  aim for 15 minutes of activity per day, and 3 homecooked meals per week.  make that a habit first. then adjust up.
