I don't know anything about flowers...

Hello! :)

My colors are yellow and cornflower blue and I would like a yellow rose bouquet. I'm on a teeny tiny budget, but I don't want silk flowers. I have looked into freeze dried yellow roses from save-on-crafts.com (link here) but I don't really know much about them. How many do I need for my bouquet, 2 BM bouquets, 1 groom bout, 1 groomsman bout, a father of the bride bout, and 2 mother's corsages and a grandmothers corsage. I'm going to make my throw away bouquet as inexpensive as possible, so probably with silk roses. Also, do i make the BM bouquets mini versions of mine, or do them differently? They are wearing blue dresses, so I figure the yellow will go well.

I thought about doing some billy balls, but the yellow might be too off. Has anyone used billy balls?

I know it's all a matter of preference, but I'm just at a loss. I don't want it to look cheap.

    check out www.roses999andmore.com click on the weddigs tab choose brides bouquets and see real samples of ohio's best florist 16 years runniing. They can work in any budget or go to the cleveland ix show today to see samples of over 25 bougets and to meet in oerson the head designer

    Silk, dried, or wooden roses/flowers will often cost just as much as fresh flowers, and unless  you get good quality, will look fake and cheap. 

    If you have a very tight budget, the cheapest way to go is usually to keep your wedding party small, flowers very simple, and DIY by odering in bulk, or from a local source. There are many tutorials on Youtube for wedding flowers.  

     BMs can carry a single rose, or small DIY bouquet tied with a simple ribbon.  Bouts can be just a bud snipped off and pinned ctly on the GMs, corsages the same, but tied with a ribbon, with a little greenery or filler flower.

    I've done DIY flowers for several moderately sized weddings, and the flowers and supplies were under about $300 when purchased in bulk.  A small wedding party, and simple flowers could be done with 4-5 dozen roses and a few supplies.

    My rose bouquet had 26 roses but it was pretty big--you could definitely make it smaller.  My BMs bouquets had 7 roses--I actually thought they were too small and wish I had done more like 10-12.

    you can totally do it yourself...
     I would suggest using light blue equadorian hydrangea as a base for the bridesmaids and weaving it through with about 7 or so yellow roses.  Back the stems with Isralei ruskus , tape the stems and wrap in a soft yellow ribbon... voila!  
    The hydrangea will hold up well for a few days  if you first hydrate it in a vase of warm water... then when it is nice and fresh and perky move  it to a cool place in the same container... just keep it well filled with plenty of fresh clean wter cause they really do drink a lot of it. .. 
    Same with the roses... about 20 for your bouquet... do the bridesmaids first so you can practice before you do your own bouquet... and skip the hydrangeas of course. 
    Again use WARM water to store them in so the drink the water up... 

    Bulk roses come in sheets of 25 blooms each ...and hydrangeas probably in bundles of 5 stems... Isralie ruskus is a really easy to use nice looking sturdy leafy green that holds up really well for a long time... It will help support the back of the hydrangeas. 

    You can easily make the bouquets up 4 days before the wedding and they will look fresh and beautiful for the big day.  

    All can be mailed right to you from Equadorian growers that do a fantastic job with quality and freshness. 
    growersbox of fifty flowers are both good sources.   

    Fresh are so much nicer than fake flowers... don't be intimidated , it will be fun and make you proud!!!!

      I think the yellow would look nice. And I don't think the billy balls would look weird. Having different tones in a monochromatic bouquet gives depth and contrast. For the BMs you could have them carry a single flower or maybe a bouquet with yellow spray roses (smaller roses with several blooms on a stem) which are cheaper and go a bit farther.
