What part of "I don't know" is so hard?

On Friday MIL asked what weekend worked for Christmas.  I told her what week I'm supposed to deliver, but there is a small possibility it could be the week before.  I told her I'd try to firm up at my next appt.  In 5 days she has sent me 2 texts, an email, and called me asking what weekend would work.

Finally I told her to plan it.  Worst case DH goes without me and I skype in.

    I might be your MIL.  I just sent e-mail to H's son and sister this morning asking about Christmas and I haven't received any replies.  It has been six hours!!!!  What could be taking them so long?!?!?!  GAH!

    is she trying to christmas jack M3's birth or something? seems a little early to plan for christmas with, oh i dunno, a handful of other holidays as well as the new baby.

    she's totally going to call DIBS any day now.

    My family has been emailing today about Christmas, so I don't have an issue with the early planning per se.  She seems to want a committment that I just can't give.  Especially not until after this next appt. 

    My brother's job schedules out 2-3 months in advance so we've started emailing.  It started with me saying we'll do our best and somehow it's ended up with M3 in a blender and my sister telling us to get back to work.

    All of our kids deal with 3 sets of parents, which in turn, means 3 sets of gparents.  We start planning as early as possible so it works for everyone.  At least one set of parents will NOT be seen on the holiday as it is just too much.  They are all getting pretty good at setting a firm boundary of dealing with one set of parents for a holiday, or saying "we will be at our house for Christmas.  You are welcome to come, but we aren't leaving."  I think that was an excellent move.

    km- We normally don't go anywhere on Christmas day, but just plan separate weekends to celebrate with our extended families.  The biggest issue this year is I'm having a baby the week of Dec 17, but that's not set in stone yet.  MIL doesn't understand I won't know more until after the 15th of this month.
