Opinions on Tamarijn Aruba?

FI & I are considering this for our honeymoon. It looks great and we would be staying in the Dutch Garden Suites. Anyone been here? Opinions? I used the search, but found mostly reviews on the other AI in Aruba. Thanks!

just be careful some of the cheaper aruba resorts are not on the beach and you have to cross the street.. we stayed at the occidential for 10 days and do not have one single complaint! we loved it

** if you do go to aruba go into town the restaurants are amazing, go to flying fish bone, have the hotel make the reservations the tables are in the ocean its so awesome!

Cool- will def look into that! This resort is right on the beach- the rooms are actually oceanfront. We liked another resort but found out the beach was far away so started looking at this one instead. Good to know about the  Occidential

okay good, when we were looking we totally thought all resorts would be on the beach and when we got there we were so happy we didnt book somewhere off of the beach, plus theres always something to do at night, the occidential had theme drinking buses each night it was alot of fun they would take you to all different bars and stuff--- but the crowd was all honeymooners and nj/ny people

My FI and I stayed there last september (got engaged there).

It's a beautiful and quiet resort.  When we were there, the beaches were empty and we had our own palapa the entire time (got lucky).  You can also use the hotel next door for their restaurants and entertainment.  We tried all the restaurants and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food. They have shows several nights a week but other than that, it's very quiet and not alot of partying (which we love).  Overall it was a fantastic experience.

Also, don't worry about where your room is, even if it's on the far end, all you do is call the desk and they send a golf cart to pick you up within 5 minutes.  We did this a lot (we stayed on the end where it was quieter but it was a good 15 min walk to the main lobby where all the food is).

We did the RIU in Aruba. Gorgeous resort in the heart of things but not a good pick if you want it quieter.  Good luck!

ksen820 - my only concern since it is not an adult only resort is kids- were there lots of kids around? It seems there are no AIs for just adults in Aruba or very few :/

Sry, just saw your post, havent been on in a few days..

To answer ur question, there were not a lot of kids.  We saw a lot of couples and a few groups, but honestly can't say I saw many kids, other than a few by the pool during the day. We're the same way about kids, but it really didn't bother us at all.
