Outdoor/Garden/Barn/Unique Reception Venue

Hi everyone,

First post on here. My fiance and I are planning to get married Sept. 17th of this year. I would really love to find a place that's somewhat unique. Outdoors in a garden, farm atmosphere. The problem is we need to find a place that allows you to choose your own caterer. 

We are paying for the wedding ourselves so the budget is limited. We can get a great deal through a local caterer. I really do not want to have the dinner at a hall/fire house/etc.

We are looking anywhere from Hamilton Square (where we are located) to Philly, South Jersey (Cherry Hill and surrounding areas) or down the shore near Wildwood. 

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

    Sayen Gardens in Hamilton maybe?

    I love Sayen Gardens; it's right down the street from us and it's where he proposed. Unfortunately, you have to use their caterer.

    i don't know if you can choose your own caterer, but check out bartram gardens in philadelphia..very pretty rustic place with views of the city skyline

    I tried looking there.. they have an approved list of caterers that you have to choose from. Thanks though.

    I'm also trying to find something of the sort and I was just about to put up a post, but you beat me to it! I wish you luck on finding somewhere. :)

    Not sure exactly where you are looking.. I found a few places so far that rent just the venue without mandatory catering. I am still on the search since they are about an hour or so away.

    One is in Collegeville, another in Chesterbrook.. both in PA near Norristown. Another one was further south.

    I am also looking for a unique reception venue idea (and ceremony) where we can bring our caters or cater it ourselves. We are trying to keep things very cheap without having to have it at a fire hall.  Any suggestions? Pretty much anything within an hour from King of Prussia or Collegeville. Thanks.

    Anyone have any luck finding a venue-outdoors such as a tent or a barn rental that will also allow you to bring your own caterer? I have about 180ppl and live in south jersey by cherry hill.
