Pink Punch

Does anyone have any pink punch (alcoholic) recipes that they want to share?

Our colors are grey and pink with hints of lime green, I assumed a pink signature drink may be a bit more visually appealing ;) I'm more than happy to try a bright green punch as well!

We will have keg beer and wine available, as well as soda and water for non drinkers, but I want to have a punch available to those to serve themselves, as we don't have any bartending service.

FMIL has a few of those large glass dispensers, I was thinking of filling in the center of my drink station, about how many would you guesstimate i'd need to have filled for ~120 guests at a 4 hour reception, keeping in mind the variety of beverages available.

TIA!

Re: Pink Punch

  • Where's your venue?  I would be really cautious about having alcohol be self-serve.  A lot of venues will have rules about that for liability reasons.

  • It's a botanical garden and there aren't any rules about such, we already checked into that.

I appreciate the concern, and ordinarily i'd agree but as our guest list doesn't include any underage attendees (unintentional of course, we just don't have any small children in our familiy) i'm not worried it'll be an issue.

We will however have the alcohol set up away from the food where the soda and water will be available, to prevent any confusion and intend to make it very clear that the punch is adult friendly.
  • I'm not talking about underage, I'm talking about overimbibing.  If your guests get drunk at your wedding and get in an accident on the way home you can be held liable.  That's why a lot of venues require alcohol to be served, so that the server can see when it's time to cut someone off.  Trusting that to the individual consumer is dangerous and could cost you a lot of money.  That's why caterers have specific insurance for that.

  • How about a Sangria?

  • What about a simple Cosmopolitan?

Ingredients1 (1.5 fluid ounce) jigger vodka1/2 fluid ounce cointreau1 teaspoon fresh lime juice1 1/2 fluid ounces cranberry juice1 twist lime zest, garnish
    or an alcoholic pink lemonade

    • Ooh! What about grapefruit juice, cranberry juice (the already sweetened kind), Cointreau and champagne?
    • Those are delightful :) I know what i'll be sampling this weekend!
    • I know it's not pink, but orange juice, squirt, and mango rum is fabulous.

    • This is going to sound gross, but it's good, and it's pink. :) The party appropriate name is Raspberry Beer Cocktail

3 1/2 bottles of light beer [not diet, just pale]
1 package of frozen pink lemonade concentrate
      1 cup of vodka
      1 cup of frozen raspberries

      serves 6

    • Haha! Funny you should suggest that - the first one we tried last weekened was a variation of that!

Only it was called "pink panty dropper" and it didn't have any frozen raspberries.
      12 cans of beer
7 cans of pink lemonade and
      3/4gallon of vodka.

The conclusion was that the alcohol content was WAYY to high for what we wanted, as the name would suggest after a good sized glass or two I was feelin' it!

It tasted delicious and we plan to make a varied version to see if it fits the bill, it's kind of fun trying all these punch recipes :P Going to try a cosmopolitan and sangria today!

      Thanks!
