cruise to the bahamas

hey ladies! so, a few months ago I posted that Fi and I decided to go to hawaii for our honeymoon. after alot of considerations, we decided we just couldnt afford it. we found a great deal on a cruise, though to the bahamas from Florida. our ports of call will be Grand turk, Half Moon Cay, and Nassau. anyone been there? we would also like to spend at least two days in Florida, where we will be be boarding the ship. anyone been to Miami? thanks!

Re: cruise to the bahamas

  • There is the beach and a huge pool at the dock in Grand Turk, which is owned by Jimmy Buffett, it is Margaritaville.  There is a swim up bar.  There is no cost to go in, but there are people walking around trying to seel you food, drinks & hair brading.  It is the largest pool I ever seen.  There is a flow rider there as well, for a fee.

As for Nassau, i recommedn staying away from the straw market, it is dirty and reeks.  You should go over to the Atlantis.  I highly recommend thier waterpark, it is awesome.  I have done the slide that goes through the shark tank, and it was fun!  i do reccommend you to eat a huge breakfast if you choose to do this, as the food at Atlantis is exspensive.  It was $7.00 for a slice of pizza.  And thier locker rental is done by credit card only.

  • We were just in Nassau last week.  We did a dolphin swim at the Atlantis and it was amazing!  They also have an amazing water park that would be cool to spend the day at.  With our excursion we also had access to their aquariums which were really neat.

  • I've been to Nassau and Miami.  Unlike the pp I would recommend checking out the market.  The boat drops you off right there so it's a little hard to avoid anyway.  You can get great deals bargaining.  In Miami, I'm not sure where you get the boat, but south beach is really cool.
  • When you say Miami, does that mean that you are leaving for the cruise at the Port of Miami? If it is, I just been at the Hampton Inn & Suites Miami Brickell Downtown and I LOVED it!!!! I booked it in a hurry, so no time to a lot of research, so I went to tripadvisor.com and look for the number 1 hotel in the area… This hotel is everything that all the comments said!!! It is in Downtown, a block from shopping and 20 or 30 restaurants and bars and a 15 minutes’ drive to South Beach. I also saw at their webpage, http://www.hamptoninnmiamibrickell.com/, that they have a Cruise Package that include 2 one-way transports to the Port of Miami and discounted parking while in the cruise (up to 7 nights).
