Hi Everyone!  I posted a few times earlier this year bc I was the MOH in my sister's wedding - well now it is my turn!

My name is Rebekah and my Fi is Nathan.  I'm 26 and he's 29.  I own an interior design and remodeling company that specializes in kitchens and baths and Nathan is an insurance broker.  We live in Raleigh and have two yorkies, Tucker and Tink.

We got engaged Thursday night.  Nathan sent Tink (who is only 3.5 lbs) into the room and she jumped in my lap and I  noticed she had a collar on (she normally does not wear one) and I look at it closer to see the words "Marry Me?" in rhinestone letters.  Nathan walks around the corner all dressed up, took the ring off the collar, and got down on one knee.  It was PERFECT!!

I look forward to getting to know all of you and sharing ideas and such!  We are thinking about getting married next June, here in Raleigh.

    Congrats and welcome!  I am marrying in Charlotte on April 30th!

    My FI proposed with our Lab when he did it (my ring was tied to her collar when I came home from work) and I thought it was the sweetest way to do it!  These girls are awesome for advice!

    Thanks, Ladies!  We are so excited!  I can't wait to get started! 

    Our goal is to have a date in the next 2 weeks...goodness do places book up far in advance...we started out wanting April or May and are now to June bc of it!

    Then I kinda want to take a break and just gather ideas and such while enjoying being engaged! 

    I also plan to do a lot of DIY - guess that's the designer in me...and the perfectionist...just wanna do it myself!  ha

    Hope everyone had a great Labor Day Weekend...I know I did :)

    Welcome back to the boards!!
    I got married this past Feb. Boy time flys!

    Thats such a cute story :o)
    My DH stuck a key (our house key) in the ring box and confused the heck out of me for a split second lol.

    I totally encourage enjoying being engaged. It can be a very stressful time (time flys, booking things, DIY's, planning), but taking time and just lovely life with your FI  is priceless  :o)

    With that said , things do book quickly, so knocking the bigger things out early is also a stress relief.

    Thanks!  I am sure I will have plenty of questions!  In case you want to see a few pictures...the lady who made the collar, emailed Nathan on Friday to tell him that she wanted to put our story on her facebook page bc she just loved it...

    Congrats & welcome! I got married June 5 in Raleigh. I agree with taking some time to enjoy being engaged once you get your major vendors. We had a 1 1/2 year engagement & I was planning the wedding before we got home from the vacation we were on when we got engaged. I wish we would have taken more time to enjoy being engaged. It was a ton of fun planning a wedding & I miss it like crazy sometimes, but you're only engaged once & planning will eventually get pretty stressful.

    Congrats and welcome to the board!! I love your proposal story, too cute! I have a yorkie named Bentley! Your FI and I probably work in the same business if he does health insurance. Let us know how planning goes! FI and I are getting married next September at Carolina Inn.

    Aw so cute! FI couldn't use our dog because he was afraid she'd eat the ring. It's totally possible, she's like a goat.
