C & V Thursday

Air your confessions and vents here!!

Re: C & V Thursday

  • Vent: Darling FI decided that he was going to get up at 5:30 to go run on the treadmill before work. His alarm went off and woke me up, so I let him know that it was time for him to go run. He mumbled that he would get up soon and hit the snooze button. His alarm continued to go off every 10 minutes for the next hour and I asked him over and over to turn the alarm off if he wasn't going to get out of bed. Had I known he was going to be lazy a$$ I would have gone for a run, but I kept expecting him to get out of bed.

Confession: I turned his alarm off while he was in the shower so that I can get an extra hours sleep tomorrow morning.

  • Confession: I caved on the wording on our invites and added both sets of parents because FMIL was disappointed that we weren't including them.  I couldn't include them without including my parents.  Sigh, I was so happy that we were listing just ourselves too...

Vent: I am SO tired of my co-workers only thinking about what's convenient for them.  My boss leaves at leaset 15 minutes early every day because she knows I have to be here until 5pm, co-worker #1 comes out to my desk and complains all the time because she knows I'm a captive audience and SHE leaves right after the boss almost every day, co-worker #2 works at home whenever she wants and comes and goes whenever she pleases for appointments, etc. and then she emails everyone today calling dibbs on one of the district meetings I really wanted to attend.  We're stiting down tomorrow to see where everyone is traveling to this year and I have a feeling I'm going to get stuck with all but one crappy trip.  I can't decide if I hope I make it to the cool trip in November or if I'd rather just jump ship now.  Undecided  I feel completely taken advantage of at this job.

  • Vent: I'm having a hard time finding a Rabbi to officiate our ceremony. Last month I met with the Rabbi from our temple and was completely caught of guard that he declined to officiate when he realized that we are an interfaith couple (FI is Protestant) and we are having my FI's uncle (a Protestant Minister) co-officiate. He said he doesn't co-officiate with non-Jewish clergy. Now I'm looking around for other Reform Rabbis who will co-officiate an interfaith ceremony but the rates are extremely high. The average quote is $800! And one Rabbi quoted me $2,000!! What? Seriously? That just seems ridiculously excessive.

And I can't seem to get over the disappointment of not having the Rabbi that I am familiar with. I was prepared to pay a fee, but was at least going to be glad that it would go towards the synagogue that we attend! I've even tried contacting the Cantor, but he hasn't even bothered to return my email after a week. Just feeling really discouraged and not sure why the clergy at my temple seem so non supportive.

    thanks for reading...

  • Vent: I'm getting a little (a lot) frustrated that my darling FI isn't contributing around the house lately. Last time we had this argument (pre-move) we ended up having to do a chore chart (like we're children) to keep track of who does what. We're adults! Why cant he act like it?!

Confession: I'm releaved my FFIL appreciatly declined the invite to officiate our wedding!

Vent: One of my coworkers lured away 3 other coworkers to help him start a business to compete with ours. We've now discovered that he convinced these women to take out loans to become partners with him. I really feel like he is a total con artist. I do background checks all the time, but I can't find anything on the guy. (Obviously, there is only so much I can legally check.) He claims to live at the local extended stay hotel while he "looks for a house" to buy with his millions. He also claims to have rented a private jet to take his daughter shopping in NYC, but drives a Chevy Cruz that's had a dent in the back since he started working here in February. He offered me a loan once, and I turned him down. I've since learned that he made the same offer to everyone here. There are a million other skeevy little things he's done here. I just wish he hadn't taken our good -- yet gullible -- employees.

Also, FI said he was looking at his baby pictures and wishes he could have a little person. FML. Trust me, I would love to be 10 years younger and have a bunch of kids, but my son is graduating high school in a few months. I don't want to start over now. I want to do all the things I postponed in my life. Plus, I love him so much, I emotionally want to have his baby. So it sends me into an emotional tailspin whenever he brings it up because it reminds me of how old I am and how I can't have the life I wanted when I was younger. And, of course, I get insecure that if he had a younger wife, he could have kids.

Confession: None, really, unless you want to hear about the donut I just ate.
