Workout Accountability: Monday

Morning everyone!

Weekend wasn't the best in terms of eating (food choices, not calories), but thankfully the scale is back down.  I also tried the cucumber-lemon-mint water combo for a healthy detox drink, and it's delicious!
Working out is on track, two weeks left of p90x (plus one recover week) and of course now I have a miserable cold, so I'm going to try to have to push through it.  I had an MRI scheduled for today for my knees, but think I'm going to have to reschedule because I can't stop sneezing long enough to hold still.

On another note, this (link below) piece was on 60 minutes last night about sugar as an addictive substance.  It's really interesting, and a bit scary, but a good segment nevertheless.

How was everyone's weekend?  Have a great Monday!

  • Glad to hear yor scale is cooperating Lobsters!

I had a good weekend.  I had a great cardio and weight workout Saturday  And yesterday FI and I went for a long walk.  Food was also on par for me, so I was happy about that.  I'm not sure what we will be doing for exercise tonight, but we do have a dance lesson later this evening.  Yay!

  • Friday I had a terrible sinus headache so needless to say I didn't do much in terms of working out.  Saturday I felt better and went for a 3 miler.  It was really hot and humid out.  It was funny because I had one of my best times even with the weather conditions and not having run for the week.  I was pretty happy about that.

Yesterday I had my shower.  It was fun and there were a lot of sweets but I think I controlled myself pretty well.  It was perfect, everyone who helped did an awesome job.  I kept hearing how FSIL is super gorgeous and tan and in shape so I'm now realizing I should probably tone my arse up for the wedding so people will be saying that about me ;)  Silly, I know, but it is what it is.
  • lbarr glad you had a good shower!! I'm sure you looked beautiful! At my shower all anyone talked about is how great my prego cousin looked, I know how you feel lol.

Ok back on track this week! I'm finally moved, I can finally cook, I'm not spending all my free time packing, time to get down to business! Saturday I was moving all day, so I didn't work out per se, but I feel like I got a pretty decent work out from moving. Sunday I got in a great work out, arms and shoulders and I ran 3.25 miles. I have all my meals and snacks planned out for the week so I should be good to go for calories! I have a dress fitting tomorrow and I am super nervous because of my crap eating and lack of working out last week :(

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

  • Good morning all. We got back from NY Friday evening and I worked all weekend. I didn't get in any exercise really or track what I was eating and I'm only up about 3 pounds which is likely water weight. Despite the conditions, I had a great trip home and got to catch up with an old friend I haven't seen in years. Traveling by myself with a 2 year old and carseat in tow, not something I will do again intentionally. This morning was back and cardio and a great 2 mile run. I barely felt like I took any time off.
  • I did interval treamill training twice over the weekend, Sat and Sun, only for 30-35 minutes.  It was way too hot to go longer than that.  I did find though I was able to jog/run for much longer than I was before which was surprising.  I did have a few treats last night, we were at an outdoor concert, french fries and beer, had to. But before that, on saturday, I did go up 0.6 of a lbs, 2 weeks ago I went up about 0.4 of a pound.  Unimpressed.

  • Last week I totally fell off the wagon. I was super stressed dealing with my Mom and her surgury, broken ankle, ect. I just kind of ate whatever was available because it was all I had time for.

Hoping to get back on track now that she is on the mend. I kayaked for about 3 hours yesterday (some very leisurely, some fighting against some nasty wind as a storm blue in) and am pretty sore today. Met my calorie goals for yesterday as well. Tonight I am going to the ballgame and am planning my calories accordingly so I should be OK.

<div>Yeah.  I hear it all of the time so while I was used to it I was like seriously?  I'm just asking for one day people... and I actually wore a dress which I never do!  Lol!  I'm being incredible immature about the situation ;)</div>
  • Happy Monday!!!

Food/Drink wise I didn’t make the best decisions this weekend, but on Saturday I ran 2 miles and Sunday it was actually nice outside and I took a little walk.  So I am glad a got a little activity in.

Thursday we are tasting wedding food!  Pretty excited about that!

Really hoping for a 2 pound loss for my Wednesday weigh in!  So I’ll be hitting the gym hard tonight and tomorrow.

  • Good afternoon ladies!

after a week and a half ... or was it two weeks ... either way ... of stress from my dad, where I would find myself mindlessly eating anything I saw I've FINALLY gotten back on track!  I woke up this morning and started Level 3 of 30DS ... pretty bad but nothing compated to level 2!  Spin yesterday morning and a weigh in.  Lost 0.5, shocking considering what I've been eating.

In food logging news, the program I've been using for YEARS has undergone some changes, so I'm migrating to MFP ... add me! :)  Sunrise0923

Tonight's plan is Bridal bootcamp and a chicken and pasta dinner!  Good luck today lovelies!

Side note:  On Pinterest last week, I found a homemade tortilla recipe, so we made some last night ... super easy and fast and you know what's in them!  I was sooooo excited ... • Morning girls

Its a LOOOOONNNGG weekend in Canada so this message is coming from my couch not my work desk :)

Had a good weekend. Saturday FSIL had a baby shower in the AM and that evening had a wedding shower for FI and I.  Our shower was lovely very low key BBQ style. I kept food in check at the baby shower (mostly bc it was almost all full of gluten so i couldnt eat it) at our shower FMIL made sure almost everything was safe for me to eat...and eat I did! but I didn't cause too much damage.
Today i started week 1 day 1 of C25K and while I still hate running I am going to try and do this with spinning 3 times a week. I am getting annoyed with my super slow progress and hoping this is the kick my body needs.

  • Hello!  I'm back on the workout regime and healthier eating this week.  I took a much deserved week off last week.  Thank you all for the well wishes in Friday's thread.  The day was wonderful.

Met with my trainer this morning she went easy on me as I haven't worked out in a week and she knew when I left last week that I wasn't going to be able to get any workouts in.    Going grocery shopping tonight to restock the fridge with healthy food.  All the leftover cupcakes from the picnic on Saturday were delivered to H's office today.

  • It has been crazy busy at work today, but I definitely wanted to pop in to post on accountability!

This weekend was pretty good for me. I was pretty on track with food and I got LOTS of exercise. I went to my first body pump class on Saturday and it kicked my butt. I'm still sore today from all the squats they had me do.

Even though I'm just trying to maintain my weight, I also lost another pound and I went pants shopping this weekend - down another pant size :) (Good for my health, bad for my second dress fitting this upcoming weekend).

Hope everyone else is doing well!

  • Hello Ladies!

I did pretty well over the weekend as far as eating and working out. Just a side bar, I went to Mexican after church yesterday for lunch and opted for the spicy chicken soup as a healthier option (without the white rice) and it was DELICIOUS!!! Today I ran 2 miles and have been doing well eating:) I will weigh in for the first time on the 15th, that will be exactly 2 weeks in and then 2 weeks after that I will take my body fat percentage!

I am going dress shopping here in about 6 weeks:) So exciting! I just want everyone to know that I am so encouraged by everyones posts. Just reading about everyone elses weight loss journey helps me:)
  • @Maribeth: We have been in the same wagon with moving! Don't you hate how it just messes up your whole schedule? It feels so good to get settled in again...

@Lobsters: Glad the scale is cooperating again! And your wedding is SO close!!

@Kwit: I don't know what your running history is, but I am just finishing up a 10K training plan that has been great...its for beginners since I just really got into running in March, but I can share if you are interested!

@EntropicB: BodyPump is such a killer isn't it? (But in a good way!)

So along with Maribeth, I have also been moving which has made my workout -and- eating all crazy. Plus, I don't even own a scale now (moved from California to Atlanta so brought as little as possible with me!) Despite not being at my own place unitl now, I have managed to fit in all my scheduled runs (including 6.6 miles yesterday!) I just am missing other cardio and weights.

I moved to started a Master's program so I will have access to a great gym in just a couple of weeks, until then I am running and will be supplementing with dvd's on other days.
  • @Kwith: That is the one I am using too!!! Guess we both have good taste! Haha.
