How long is your engagement?

So i'm always curious for how long people are engaged and how they picked their date. Let me know!

I wanted a fall wedding. No Mizzou footballl game that weekend. And we decided.

We either wanted a spring or fall wedding to avoid the major heat or cold. 2 of my bridesmaids are teachers and 1 is still in school, as well as my future MIL being a teacher. We waited until the school year would be over for all of them so as to not add any stress or scheduling conflicts. My future MIL just has two sons-the eldest had a shotgun wedding so she didn't get to participate much. My Fi and I both wanted her to be able to have a traditional experience of her son getting married so we set a date where her calendar would be free as a bird!

We're getting married May 28, 2011-Memorial Weekend!

We are getting married March 26, 2011. We will be engaged for almost 2 years! We got engaged on April 12. 2009. We originally were planning an October 2, 2010 wedding because we thought that time of year would be great for a wedding (not too hot, not too cold, pretty, etc) and we didn't want to plan a wedding in a few months for 2009... THEN we got pregnant! Oops! The baby is due July 27th and we just decided instead of stressing about a wedding and baby that we would push the wedding back a little bit. We decided on March since it is starting to get warm again (hopefully anyway!) and by that time the baby will be 9 months and we would feel more comfortable leaving her with the grandparents for our honeymoon!

Well FI let me pick a date for next year!! So I wanted spring summer and started going thru the saturday's in 2011! Came across August 13 which just happens to be my late great grandmothers birthday!! I asked FI if that date was ok he said yes and when I told my mom she loved it and she cried!!

We wanted a fall wedding because we figured it wouldn't be so hot. We picked Oct. 2 because KU is not playing at home that Saturday (we couldn't set a date until the 2010 football schedule was released).

ha, seems a lot of us had to plan our weddings around football schedule!

I currently go to the university of Michigan, and we had to make sure that Ohio State/Michigan game was that day. Though our wedding is on a sunday. On saturday there is a home game in Michigan and i have friends going to the game and then driving to kansas city...football :-p

We got engaged November 2009 (complete surprise!) and our wedding date is June 11, 2011. I just really liked the date and I hope the weather will be warm, but not too warm for our outside ceremony.

This is my 2nd. My first is 4 and both are girls! :) Being a mom really just comes naturally to me and I'm sure it does to most. It's just instinct (and listening to your pediatrician <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" />) BUT, if you are planning yours...do not plan it for the summer months!! My first was born in Janurary, but this one is in July and it's too hot for this pregnant belly!! LOL!

Engaged for just a little over a year. We got engaged on August 1, 2009 and are getting married this August 28th. I wanted a summer wedding before K-State football season started so that's how we got that date!

Engaged April 4, 2010 (Easter!), getting married August 21, 2010 so about 5 months! Dated for 7 years and decided there was no reason to wait any longer. Plus Fiance' left for school in Holland a month after we got engaged so we didn't want to be apart any longer than necessary. We will be moving to Holland 2 days after the wedding and living there for 4 years!!! eeek!

We got engaged on Easter too! But, in 2009 :) I was helping my daughter hunt for eggs and he showed her where one more was and she went and grabbed it and FI said "That ones for mommy" I open it up and theres my ring! Too cute :)

Good luck with your wedding and then moving to Holland!! That is so exciting!!
