we are "eloping" in early january along with both sets of parents. Any ideas for a nice resturant around the french quarter where the family can go to eat after we say 'i do'? was thinking lunch time but any suggestions are appreciated!

I second Muriel's. The food is amazing and it's a fun atmosphere. You could always do Brennan's or Antoine's as well - both are a bit more "old school New Orleans" but the food is frantastic.

If you don't mind going to the edge of the Quarter on Canal St., I recommend Palace Cafe. They have at least one private dining room in case you will need more space than just an extended table.
