Carriage House Galloway

Hi Girls,

I am recently engaged and planning a 2012 wedding in either the spring or summer. I have heard lots of things about the Carriage House in Galloway, however I am still awaiting pricing information from them. Does anyone have any information on that venue or feedback for me to consider? I am also interested in hearing about the Rams Head, the Seaview Hotel by Dolce and any other places in that area to get married. Also, is there the possibility of having beach photos after the ceremony nearby?

Let me know!
Thanks,
Jamie

I am getting married at Seaview in 54 days woo hooo!! But i wouldnt recommend them for a 2012 wedding.  Stockton College just purchased the resort and they are talking about converting half the hotel into student housing ??!!!...While everything has been wonderful for me so far, I dont have faith that it wont be a mess by the time your wedding comes. I would hate to see you sign a contract and have it be like animal house!!

Their prices start at $120 a head, but include alot...If you want to look at Seaview, I would recommend waiting at least 6 or 7 months and see how Stockton does with the resort...

We are having our ceremony pictures and reception all there and there are beautiful places for pictures inside and out.  If the purchase by Stockton College didnt just happen I would highly recommend Seaview.

.Good luck and happy planning!!  Keep the questions coming.

the Carriage House in nice, but the food isnt anything to talk about. I've been there on many occasions for different events and the food isn't good. I hope this helps!

I agree about the Carriage House.  It is absolutely beautiful but the food is just ok.  Also, a friend of mine was looking into it and because she was short by 20 people they were not going to let her use the main big ballroom (this was last year so I'm not sure if they are as strict about it anymore).  Ram's Head is really nice and the food is great! I went to a wedding there in April and everyone raved about the food and service.  Good Luck to you!!

I am getting married there October 14, 2011...Make sure you negiotate everything before you sign the contract.. I am looking forward to having my wedding there, just don't like being, (tried to talk me out of fondant, rather then butter cream).  Where I should go for flowers, blah blah blah..

I got married there but it was two years ago not long after they opened.  I thought the location and the food were amazing.  People still talk about the cocktail hour.  We had everything from beef wellington to shrimp scampi, kobe burgers, sushi, etc.  My cake was beautiful and tasted great.  Our pictures are also out of this world.  The location just lends itself to gorgeous pictures.  Plus, Denise the matre d took care of absolutely everything all night (she was always there to make sure we didn't need anything) plus she sent us away with snacks for the hotel that evening.

I highly recommend the location.  If  were to get married again, I would do it there.

I am getting married at Seaview this year. I have all the confidence in the world in my venue. The girls working there have done everything in their power to reasure me that my wedding will be pefect and I can't thank them enough. I am so excited for my wedding and I am not the least bit upset over the new ownership. Hotels change ownership all the time and this ownership seems to be a little higher publisized due to the college. The college will help in renewing the hotel and making it better for future business and brides and im my opinion I am super excited about this. I think you should really stop worrying so much about this change. You are going to ruin your wedding day by stressing over something silly. Wedding planning is a happy time. Sit back and enjoy it!

I wish success in your wedding plans.

I am also considering this venue for a spring 2012 wedding or Greate Bay. Has anyone been to a wedding there?

    Hi Girls!

I just recently attended my friend's wedding at Carriage House and I have attended two other weddings there in the past (one sit-down and two buffet). Every time the food was amazing!  Their chef is from the food network.  I actually am recently engaged and looking to possibly have my wedding there myself!  It was just beautiful!

    Good Luck ladies!
