Place Card Help!

So my dad was supposed to help with my place cards, I originally wanted this:

My dad was going to DIY those little branches for me... but we haven't been on speaking terms since November of last year.  Allegedly he's coming to the wedding, but not 100% because he sucks at life and is a flake.  But there is a SLIGHT chance he'll pull through, but I'm not holding my breath.

Anyways... my question to you guys..... is it "okay" for me to order place cards from Wedding Paper Divas?  They are having 40% off today, and the one's I like will be under $40 for all of them.  And if my dad does pull through, I can just put the fancy place cards in the wood slit.  I would buy the wood things myself, but at $2 a branch piece, that is TOO MUCH.  I used Wedding Paper Divas for my RD invites, and LOVED them, great service and product!

I just want someone's okay so I don't feel guilty spending the money.... FI would be fine with this because I'm already DIYing A TON and he would like more of my time.

And paper/decor stuff is on my splurge if necessary "list" of WR stuff.

THANK YOU!!!!

I say go for it!  40 dollars for all of them is not bad at all!

Sorry your dad bailed on you :(  I really hope he pulls through!

Look at it this way, either way you have some lovely place cards, so you definitely have my okay. :) I'm sorry your dad is being like that. I hope it works out for the best.

Would you feel comfortable calling him to ask what the deal is and if he will be doing it or not? ......................however, you say he is a flake, so maybe you should have a back-up plan anyway? In that case, I say go for it!

    Especially at that price!

Either way, I think a back up plan is a good idea and if he does come through, you can just fit the cards into the wood pieces and if not, at least you have cute (and on sale!) cards. :)
    I say go for it.

Thanks ladies!  I went ahead and ordered them :)  I love coupons/sales.

kinmir, I do not want to talk to my dad at all.  I only invited him to the wedding because my mom wanted me to.  I hope he's a total no show... but we'll see.  I asked him to help with DIY back last summer, but then he did something SUPER BAD imo in November, and I haven't wanted to speak to him since, and he hasn't reached out either.
