St. Augustine/South Jacksonville Venue?

New here, I originally wanted something outdoorsy/rustic, but an indoor reception. Everything I've found has been a little pricey (or so I've heard). I also want to do a bbq/burgers to cook ourselves. I suppose a state park would be best? What would you recommend? I liked picalata farms because it's about 10 minutes from me, but I heard it's no longer doing weddings? Just looking for a budget rustic venue where I can cook my own food!! Any help would be GREAT! :)

Re: St. Augustine/South Jacksonville Venue?

  • Are you open to doing a beach wedding? I know that isn't really rustic but Saint Augustine beach has a large pavilion you can rent. The down side to this option is that is has nothing in it. So you would have to rent everything including finding a grill to use. The rental fees if I remember correctly were rather reasonable. Not sure on the cost but you might try Pioneer Barn it is at Fort Menendez. Hope this helps!
  • Thank you, I actually looked at the Pioneer Barn but I am thinking a LOT about "The Club at Grace Farms" in jacksonville/mandarin. It's BEAUTIFUL. outdoor, big oak tree, indoor reception. Grills, etc. not to mention 10 minutes from my parents house and 20 from his :)!  What do yall think..Not much info but if you google it, some things come up, or you could google map it. it's very pretty
  • Grace farms is no longer doing weddings. :\  I tried contacting them for my wedding. I was not able to find any other rustic looking venue and ended up going in a completely different direction. I wish we had more options available here in Jax.

I agree. I first saw the Keeler Property too and thought it was just too far and too expensive. :\ What a shame too!

  • What about the river house I think it's called in St Augustine? It's right on the water. Not really rustic but somewhat outdoors I think (have only seen their website).

  • We are getting married at the finch house in saint augustine beach.
It's just a beach rental that lets you have pretty large events there.
We negotiated a per person fee of $6.30 in addition to the regular rental fees.
To give you an idea, we are paying $2700 to rent the house for 10  DAYS (including cleaning and taxes, plus the per person charge.
They have a grill, pool, gazbo and 1 picnic table.
There are rental companies that you can use for extra tables.  They even have a small sound system and outside bar area.
Note that we are having our wedding in off rental season (also be ware of spring break times)
Nice thing is you don't have to be out at any time after the reception.
If you google vrbo 5189, you can find the house quite easily.
    Hope this helps!
