  If you're not having a formal wedding, you don't need an outer an inner envelope.

  You don't NEED to.  It's really more about what you WANT.  I find the dual envelopes to help convey how special a wedding (and its invitation) really is, so I prefer that or a pocketfold to just a single envelope, but that's me.

  I feel like most brides that do pocketfold invites also do not use an inner and an outer envelope.
