Cathedral Brides--Getting in touch with them.

Hey everyone. I'm wondering if there is anyone getting married at St. Louis Cathedral that has had trouble getting in touch with them? I'm not getting married until June 2012, but I have a couple of questions and left a message last Wednesday and haven't heard back. I know my wedding is a while away and that they are busy, but was just wondering if anyone else had had the same problem? Should I call back in couple days and leave another message, or just wait until they return my call?

It took them about a week to return my call.  They should call you back in the next day or two.  The coordinator that I spoke with was very friendly and helpful.

They took a week to return my call. Their website was pretty info-filled, so I guess check that out while you wait.

Also, it is Mardi Gras down here right now.  They could possibly have limited office hours since the French Quarter is so crazy during carnival season.  Just a thought.

Thanks ladies. I know that when my mom called to reserve the date, she left a message and then called backed a few days later and someone actually answered. The coordinator said that he usually only returns calls in the evenings because during the day he is working with brides.

I went and hand delivered my deposit and there were people in the office, but none of them were any of the people who handle weddings, so the wedding coordinators might not even be there a lot. So, if I don't hear anything in the next couple days, I'll just call back, I just wanted to see if it was normal to wait this long to hear back from them. Thanks again.

Sorry...I see now that you're from here so you'd obviously know about the craziness.  For some reason I was thinking you were OOT.  Anyway, good luck and happy mardi gras!

Just to let you know, utilzing any cathedral is going to cost you a pretty penny. I called a lot of the cathedrals when first considering my wedding in New Orleans. All of them were over $1,000 for the one hour you are there. So be prepared. We used St. Maria Goretti. It is a beautiful church and the cost is beyond reasonable with no restrictions as to wearing strapless gowns, throwing petals, playing music, etc. A lot of those cathedrals have really really strict rules.

FYI: I just got married Feb. 2011.

Thanks gs1angel, but I'm already familiar with the Cathedral's costs and rules. I've already put a deposit down. Thanks for your suggestion though.
