Free Vendors?

I read somewhere just yesterday about a Bride that paid nothing to have vendors do her wedding because she had them advertise their company at her reception. Im very curious about this. I tried to find the website again without any luck, so i wanted to ask if anyone has heard of this or seen it. What a better world it would be if we didnt have to go bankrupt for a wedding.

It's nice for the bride but not for everyone else.  I think you'd get really nice stuff that would then be cheapened by the advertising everywhere.  The other thing is that the only vendors who would do this are those that are desperate for clients.  Good vendors operate on referrals without advertising at weddings so they wouldn't be interested.  You'd have to do a lot of shopping around and come up with your own ideas for how to display their logos and business cards and pamphlets everywhere and you might not even end up with the best vendors.  In addtion, you'd have to prove to them that you are inviting a lot of people who would be getting married in your area somewhat in the near future.  If most people you are inviting live out of state or are already married, the vendors will most likely say no.  Also, your guests might think less of you if they were bombarded with advertisements and it would cheapen the effect.

i want to say that the bride who you read about that did this worked in a field that made her wedding desirable for vendors to want to advertise. It's been a while since I've seen anything about it, but you'll probably have a difficult time finding vendors to do this.

I know that there was a tux place that had a promotion for high school kids to wear their tux to school for a week and get a free tux for the advertisement for prom.
