  Chaput is not being moved to "end the corruption". Rigali is mandatory retirement age, in fact, past it.  The timing of this, while perhaps convenient, is also coincidental.
  
  Chaput worked closely with Christopher West while he was in Denver on marriage and family life. Since the TOB institute is in Philly its very good they are together once again.

  I think it's still unfortunate, nonetheless, that something like this had to go all the way to a Grand Jury.
  
  Just goes to show that even the most religious of us are not without fault.

  It seems to me that Rigali was not as pious as one would think a Cardinal ought to be, and it seems that there was some corruption there.  The news said that the Pope had hoped Chaput would turn the diocese around and end the corruption.

  H and I were actually just discussing that... seems like a great bishop, unfortunately we're diocese of Pittsburgh, not Philly. (well, unfortunately only because he's not coming here. Otherwise Pittsburgh is way better than Philly in all respects lol. In fact, H's and my discussion ended with the observation that its unfortunate for Chaput that he has to go from the beautiful state of Colorado to Philly haha). From what I've read about Chaput, he seems like a wonderful, orthodox bishop, which will hopefully be good for Philadelphia, in more ways than the end of corruption.
