ordering flowers for a wedding accross the country

HI all -

I live in California but my wedding will be in New York. Does anyoen have any tips or recommendations for finding vendors and figuring out bouquets etc. from afar? I"m not really sure how to approach this.

I planned my Florida wedding from LA. I found my florist through another vendor I already booked. We did everything via email and phone. I told her the flowers I liked and the look I was going for and left the creativity to the professional.

Thanks - so did they just deliver them or did you end up going there prior to the event? I'm wondering if I need to find someone close to the venue or if they're a bit further out - not sure if it matters.

I would post this on the board local for where you are getting married. You may find some good recommendations that way...or even just by checking out prior posts on that local board. Also, do an online search and check out reviews for them and I agree with asking other vendors you book.

I wasn't able to visit the florist before the wedding because I flew in the day before (I was in nursing school and couldn't take any time off) so the first time I saw my flowers was when she delivered them the day of my wedding. She brought them right to me and I couldn't have been more pleased.
