Describe your dress

Hello fellow knotties,

I feel like it's been ages since I went dress shopping and ordered my dress. Following on from the Thursday survey questions, I was wondering what style everyone is going with for their Hawaii wedding.

I chose a Pronovias one-shoulder sheath in silky satin. I have to stop myself from looking at other dresses so I don't second guess myself as it has been so long since I've tried it on.

What about you?

I don't have picstures of me in it when I went shopping for it.  I promise when I go to my first fitting I will.   But here is what it is.

silk taffeta, with a removable shoulder strap.  I'm still debating if I want to go strapless or one shoulder.

My dress is a Maggie Sottero bustled gown with corset back, shimmery satin with lace accent. It was one of the first I tried on and no other dress compared to this one! This dress has some sentimental value behind it. My Great Grandmother has always wanted to see me get married and gave me money to buy my dress, however I wanted to finish school first. Before I moved 1200 miles away to complete my last 16 months of school, I wanted to purchase my dress so she could see me in my gown. I knew our time was short left with her...she died this past March and I know she will be there on my wedding day watching from above!  :)

The first picture shows off the color better than the last 2 because of the lighting.

Yours sounds beauitful! Mine is a Maggie Sottero Paigely.  Sweetheart neckline strapless with light satin and a layer of lace over with crystal beading. Love it!

Everyone looks gorgeous!!! So many different styles but perfect.
Brea - I love the sash and it's a perfect fit.
Lyn - Can't wait to see it on you. You could do one way for the ceremony and one way for the reception! Best of both :)
Dimplz - I haven't seen anything like yours before! So unique. I love the bustle and it's beautiful!
Lyssa - Love your dress too! I love the lace!

Here's mine. And I'm totally not trying to pose. Sorry! I think my friend caught me I as I was tucking my hair behind my ear. I must practice taking photos before the big day!

I just found mine this past weekend and am going to order it tomorrow. It is a satin mermaid dress with what looks like a jeweled belt right below my bust. I don't have pics of me in it because my camera wasn't working. These are the pics of it that I found online.

I love it. So many beautiful dresses. It's like getting to vicariously dress shop through you ladies, without the stress of being at a dress shop! I hope my dress comes in soon so I can remember why I loved it.

*AKwinterbride*: can't wait to hear more about your wedding. I'm also using Cherise and many of the same vendors you used. Any tips you have would be greatly appreciated. Congrats, btw, the photos look stunning!

LOVE all the dresses.  I love how drastically different our styles are, and yet every dress is so lovely.   Mine was made of asymmetrical layers of silk organza with a sweetheart neckline and a bit of a bell bottom fit & flare.

    Back:

And one of the coolest bustles ever:

Aww...I want to share even though this is an old discussion... :)

My dress is a Watters lace trumpet dress with a sweetheart top and sweep train. I love that it has an appliqué scallop neckline and the lace is dense and then it gets less dense near the bottom. It also has swiss dots, which makes the lace look so delicate and vintage-y! Needs no alterations except for length and probably bringing it in! I ordered it a couple weeks ago and the bridal boutique said it'll be here in 6 months! It'll be a nice birthday gift when it comes!

The belt is separate, but I loved it on the model, so I also ordered the belt.

    Back of dress...

We are planning a TTD shoot after the wedding, BUT I don't want to trash my beautiful dress. I'm going to find a second dress to trash for the shoot!

I want to see more dresses, please! :) Everyone looks so beautiful!
