Villa Barone upstairs or downstairs?

Please help me decide!  I just booked Villa Barone in Mahopac and I can't decide between the upstairs room or downstaris.  Your thoughts will be appreciated.

Both are beautiful - but when we looked (for a Saturday night) we were given different minimums for each room. That's something to consider. Even if you "fit" in the small room - if you are close to the minimum for the big room it might be better to with that one. Because if you "fit" in the small room - it's going to be pretty tight. How many people are you looking at having?

I'm getting married at the VB Hilltop next year too!  :)  We are getting married in the downstairs room.  I'm looking at inviting about 210 people which fits comfortabley in that room.  When we went to look at both rooms, i liked the overall look and feel of the downstairs room better than the upstairs...but thats just my own opinion.  If you're planning on inviting a lot of guests. more than say 225 people, then i would choose the upstairs room just to have more space.  But i do blieve there is a "minimum" guest requirement for each room like TerriandJoe mentioned above.  If you have anymore questions feel free to ask me :)  Good Luck!

I'm getting Married at Villa Barone next July =)   We booked the Upstairs Room.  We are having around 250ppl.  I liked the Upstairs room better b/c the bridal suite was on the same level as the room whereas the Bridal suite for the downstairs room is upstairs.  Also the Upstairs room has 2 bars in it, and i liked the outside balcony better.  However both rooms were very nice its all based on your preference.  Good Luck, I hope this helps =)

I'm gettiing married there 9-1-12 .  I'm having 300 people and went with the upstairs room  .  I really think it does matter how many people your inviting/expecting to make the choice ,  if thats not a factor then really it's about your own personal preference.

Try to imagine yourself when your getting announced for the 1st time as husband and wife which room you would rather make an entrance through , maybe that will help decide .

I hope that helped   :)   :)    Good Luck !  Lets us know what you decide

We are iviting between 200-250.  I like that the bridal sweet is on the same floor of the upstairs room and I love the private patio. I also LOVE LOVE LOVE the cahndeliers!  But downstairs has the higher cielings and really nice entry way where you enter from the center of the room.  My mom is very particular and pointed out something I never would have noticed until it was too late about upstairs.  The entry way has that brown railing when you come in.  In my opinion, now that they made the room white, it's not very nice to be in you pictures as your grand enterance.  It is also right next to the dj so you will also have the eqipment in your pictures.  I guess it is all a matter of preference.  But those little things are what makes it hard to decide. Thanks foe the advice.  I am actually going on Sat to see both rooms set up.  Hopefully I will just know as soon as I walk in!

I'm getting married at the Villa Barone as well this coming March!!! We chose the downstairs romm for a few reasons -
1st we woulnt meet the minimum head count of 250 for the upstairs room. We are inviting 220 but Im pretty sure we will have a few "NO's" so we will fit comfortably in the downstairs room. 2nd when we both walked into the downstairs room we just knew it was perfect for us & in my opinion alot prettier!
They did just re-do the upstairs room.

I prefer the downstairs room to the upstairs room - it seems more elegant and open.

So Ive been obsessing for the past two weeks and realized both rooms are beautiful but I like the downstairs room better.  I've been to so many oarties in the upstairs room and never in the downstairs so using downstairs I think would be very special in that respect.  I love the entry way so much better istead of the ugly brown railing upstairs. I also love the high ceilings.  However, I just sat with my mom and she added MORE unexpected people to the guest list so my list was 250 now its 320 but with alot of people form out of town that who knows if they would even come.  So now we would have to use upstairs to accomodate all those people because capacity downstairs is 270.  But I don't want to give up the downstairs room if these people do not come and I end up with 250 anyway! What do I do help!

I decided on the upstairs!  Finally!  We went overe the guest list one more time and it just seems to be growing so to keep from stressing about the guest list I'm going with the upastairs.  They are both beautiful rooms.  Thanks for all the advice and good luck to all the brides that are getting married there that responded and all those brides that have already gotten married there!  Thank you again!
