Tastefully simple party's etc.

These at home party's has anyone done one?

People just come to your house and a rep. comes and sells the stuff?

Fill me in a bit on how these things work. What does the host get? What does the seller get? What does the buyer get?

GO!

I have only been to Silpada parties and what I like to call Adult Tupperware parties.

I've never done a tastefully simple party (I think Ooods is a rep) but I have hosted a tupperware party. I got a crapload of free stuff!
You have the basics of it. You invite your friends/family and a rep comes and does some sort of demonstration. Everyone who wants something orders and you get stuff depending on how much $$ your party made. Some people get certain % off what they want other people get free stuff.

I'm trying to convince DH into letting me do one of these and combine a tastefully simple/premier jewlery party together....

    He's currently thinking about it.

Posted by ButtonsPepper[/QUOTE]  10, not 50 lol.   I would say you would have about 10 if you invited 25. A lot of people don't like these parties, they feel like they have to buy something if they come.

DH would KILL me if I just invited a ton of people into the house. It's not my house, or his house, it's our house. IDK... we discuss these things and make sure it's cool with the other person.

I don't know I wouldn't just have them come over, I would tell him in advance.  I know everyone is different though.

He gets anxiety, and gets REALLY flustered when things are hosted in our house. It's legit. a big concern for when our kids have birthday party's, he's more nervous about this then ANYTHING else, finances health etc. It's people coming over in his house for parties. Just one of those things that when you know it... you just respect it. And tread lightly.

I used to sell adult toys.

As a rep I would prefer more people as it would up my odds of a better party.  Of course I had huge parties wit few sales and small parties with high sales so you never know.

As a host, you are better off inviting tons of people as some people never go to said parties, some people will be busy, etc.

I would ask the reps. if they are ok with you having two parties at once.

Some parties give better rewards then others, also some reps will give extra rewards to get your to book with them, I used to do this, so shop around.

I'd be using two people I know :-) Who have been in talks with trying to do a collective party together. But TY!!

NCV--I kind of feel like if I was a rep for any of those types of companies... that's what I would do.  My former work friend (we're still friends, she just doesn't work with me anymore) had one of these... and our rep was SCARY.  She was creepy and it made me not want to buy anything from her at all.

I've thought about donig these instead of Ulta.  But I like that I have a guaranteed paycheck at Ulta.  And I need my second job.

I loved it RA and missed it for awhile after I moved to England.  Some parties were horrible, but others were a ton of fun.

I made a fair amount of money, although I would do things differently if I did it again.

I'd say invite like 40 people and assume maybe 10-15 will come.   As a host you get a percentage of all the orders in host $$, so for instance let's say your party brought in $1000 in sales (which is possible), you would get like $150-200 in credit towards free stuff for yourself.   Also sometimes there are booking bonuses - like for instance in the month of May if you have a party and get a certain level of purchases you get a free ice bucket and glasses sort of thing in honor of cinco de mayo/summer.

I have hosted 2 tastefully simple parties and have been to at least 1 that combined premiere jewelry with Tastefully Simple. I love Tastefully Simple products so I find the parties to be a good time. You get a per centage of the sales in free products plus a bonus that is graduated. So if your party sells $50 you get an appetizer spreader. If your party brings in $100 you get a ceramic loaf pan. Etc.

If you have one I will come!

I used to sell partylite, now my friend is trying to get me into Mary Kay which I am considering....

    Anyway...

The more the merrier I always said.
I had big parties that were a ton of fun and Ive done little parties that were just as great.
You know your friends/family/etc best so invite ones you know would enjoy that stuff.
Biggest pet peeve, was when people invited people and their guests arrived and said I dont really like candles, use candles, etc...then what are you doing at a partylite party?!

The MK one I hosted I had like 10 people it was excellent.

Either way good luck, tons of fun to be had, and lots of free stuff to get!
