Stuck on Favors ideas..help?

OK so I had an idea to do vintage knick knacks or something as favors, but the more I think about it, the less doable it seems.
I am obsessed with this wedding

I love the idea of  the various beautiful papers wrapped around candies, but I am concerned about how candy will hold up.
We are doing an outdoor wedding in Ohio in September, which can be either muggy or cool.
Any suggestions or advice on what else we can do that can be wrapped like this (the last pics) for favors?

Thanks!!!!!

  • I love the lavender ring in the ceremony - I want to do that!

What kind of candy are you considering? I think hard candy would be best. Will you buy or make it? Matt, my fiance, is a chef and he said he could tell you how long it would hold up but he needs to know what kind and what's in it.

I agree that hard candy shouldn't be a problem at all.

  • I love the wrapped candies idea. Also, I'm too broke for anything remotely fancy for favors, but I'm making paper fans (looks like ping pong paddles kind of fans) with vintage-y stamped designs on them for the guests to use and take as I'm getting married in August. I saw the idea on Martha Stewart, (who else),that cranky b-word has a lot of cool ideas.

  • I think rock candy in mason jars would be cute. Matt said it wouldn't melt unless exposed to high temperatures but they might stick together. We are also going to have rock candy at our candy bar but since it's sooo pricey we are going to make it. I figure we have plenty of time and it will be a fun DIY project for the two of us. I don't get in the kitchen enough.

  • OK so I just found this site http://www.gpencil.com/ that sells in bulk. For 576 personalized pencils its only $98! Wow I am so into this I might just do it and have rock candy as decor in jars on the tables.
