Getting Married in Morristown 8-2012

Help needed! Places to take photos before ceremony/reception at Madison Hotel. Recommendations on florist, transportation for wedding party to take pictures, where to take pictures (indoor and outdoor), photographers, photobooth rental, etc.
Any advice or suggestions anyone has will be more than appreciated!
Thanks!

Wow! Thanks for all the great information - didn't even know about Vail Mansion. I think we are going to use Conroy's Florist but still haven't picked a photographer or bus for pictures.

How about one of the Universities in that area? FDU, Drew, St. Elizabeth's? I don't know if they require you to be an alumni, but it is worth a try.
I went to FDU, and there are some really nice photo locations there if it is possible.

Didn't even think about the colleges and universities up there! Neither myself or my fiance are that familiar with Morristown (other than going out to the bars there when we were younger) and really appreciate all the advice. I have been researching and contacting a ton of vendors, but I'm not sure who is good and who is recommended (as well as not knowing much about the area).
Thanks again for all the help!!!

If you have some vendors in mind, they might be listed on our vendor review site already: <a style="background-color:transparent;margin:0px;outline-width:0px;color:#1f1f1f;font-size:12px;vertical-align:baseline;font-weight:normal;text-decoration:none;background-origin:initial;background-clip:initial;border-width:0px;padding:0px;" rel="nofollow" href="http://nnjknottievendors.weebly.com/">http://nnjknottievendors.weebly.com/</a>

If not, just post a thread on our board with the list of vendors you are interested in, and if anybody has input on them I am sure they will share with you! Good luck!

We took our pictures at the mansion at FDU and loved it. You can see some of the pics here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/chris-mastalia-photography/376153507320#!/media/set/?set=a.10150246495847321.323828.376153507320&type=1

You do need a permit and they will only let you take pics there is there are not other events scheduled on your date, so it was only a few months before our wedding I got the all clear that we could take pictures there. Prior to that I did schedule the arboretum and its $100 per half hour for a permit there.

Vail mansion is also a great option and I had called them as well. We just found FDU to have a bit more options (including indoor options) and was right next to our venue

I forgot to mention...our wedding was in Florham Park and for vendors...we used Santos Limos and were very happy w/ them. For flowers, we used AW Flowers- amazing flowers and price. I did meet w/ Conroy's and loved her, but her price was twice as much as AW for the same thing.  If you need other recommendations (lighting, video, band, etc) let me know we were very happy with mostly everyone we used :)

I checked the nnjknotievendors.weebly.com page this morning (my apologies for not going there first). I didn't find much informatio about specifics for places to take wedding photos in Morristown. I also did not find any good information on local florist or transportation that was used specifically for Morristown.

This is the second time that someone has reached out to make sure I went to the nnjknottievendors.weebly.com page and as much as I understand that other people don't want me to not do my own homework, I also am not sure why asking some simple questions specific to Morristown would make me feel so bad about asking for help! It really isn't a big deal and had made this whole forum thing a little uncomfortable for me. This was my first time posting anything and it will make me think twice if I ever get enough nerve up to post again.

Um, I'm sorry, but first of all I didn't realize that someone had already suggested that site.
It is a GREAT site full of TONS of useful information. and I thought it might be helpful to you so I mentioned it. I don't believe I said or did anything to make you feel bad for asking for help.
As far as specific to Morristown, we gave you a bunch of recommendations for photo locations.
As far as vendors, specifically limo, they don't need to be from  that area. My limo is in Edison and my wedding is in Verona. They are well accustomed to traveling all over the state, and it is definitely not out of the norm to use a vendor that isn't from the same area as your wedding. (same applies for florist).

I really don't understand what you are getting all bent out of shape over. Did I miss something??

ETA- nobody other than me mentioned the vendor review site to you in this thread, and nobody mentioned it in your one and only other thread, so I have no idea what you are referring to about how this is the second time (GASP!) someone mentioned it.

AW Flowers is in Kearny, not the Morristown area, AND you could've gotten that rec from the vendor review site because it is mentioned on there a ton of times.. so I'm not sure what I'm missing here, but it sounds like someone is being all defensive for absolutely no reason.
Sorry for trying to help you.

I'm not bent out of shape, I'm just a shy person by nature. Like most of us, this is my first time planning a wedding and thought I would reach out for help. All I wanted was to get some information from other people that have gotten married in Morristown or from people that know the area. I'm sorry for upsetting you and for giving you the wrong impression.

But what did I say to you that would make you feel uncomfortable posting here? I was being helpful. I gave you suggestions about the Universities, and then also posted the link to the vendor site because you mentioned that you had a ton of vendors in mind but didn't know who was the best, etc. What did  I say to upset you???

What I was also trying to point out to is that just because your wedding is in Morristown, that doesn't mean you can't use vendors from other areas. None of my vendors are from the area I am getting married in, and that is definitely not out of the norm if you ask around on here.

You also never said you were ONLY looking for vendors in that area.. you just said you were looking for photo locations in that area, and then also looking for vendors. If you ONLY want vendors in that area then you should specify that in your post.

Someone private messaged me and now I know what they were referring to when they mentioned some people can get a little testy. You are being rude and it is not necessary. I only wanted to get some ideas and to be honest, really didn't like that vendor site. It didn't give me much information about what I was looking for and have gotten a lot more help from the other people on this thread that have offered advice.

Let this go, it really isn't worth getting all worked up over (GASP)!

How am I being rude? You haven't explained what I've said that upset you in the first place! You are the one being rude to me for no reason.
If you are going to accuse me of treating in a way that makes you want to avoid posting here, then I'd like an explanation.
    Thanks.

P.S. - how would I have possibly known that someone PMd you the link to the vendor site already? You could've just said "thanks, I've already checked it out" instead of over reacting by saying that I made you feel so bad about posting a question here.

Cindyn9178 - I'm sorry! This is just an online forum and you are right, I was wrong. I should have been grateful for your help and said thank you. Have a good night and best of luck in a couple of weeks for your big day.
