cute idea for shower/party

We were thinking of a very informal "Jack & Jill" party at the cottage this summer; basically just a big BBQ and bonfire type of thing. It would fun to play the "reindeer" game with clothespin painted like this:

I seriously need to stop finding new ideas... LOL

I have the same question-- what's the reindeer game? Those clothespins are super cute, but look relatively time consuming

I keep adding to my DIY list, so I understand what you mean about "stop looking" haha

There are lots of different versions of the game. Some ppl start off with pins and they are taken, or some people are assigned other to "pin". Just google clothespin games and you'll find tons of different versions.

We used to play in high school at xmas time - it was a hoot watching people get pinned in the hallways!

Its a "co-ed" shower, both the bride & groom are there & both their friends are there. When done right they are fun, I brought it up and my FI has beged me not to do it (we've been to a not so fun one)- but a picnic/bonfire sounds awesome.

We really don't know what to call it; it's really just a party to celebrate the engagement/wedding with all of our friends in our favourite place
We'll incorporate some "wedding" stuff; games and cake and decor... but it's really laid back.

A Jack and Jill bonfire party could be a blast, but it has to be the right group of people. We went to one with a friend who's FI was 5 years younger than her, though. It was super awkward because all of her friends were late 20's and starting families, and all of his friends were still at the college partying age. We pretty much completely segregated. He hung out with his friends in the basement, she hung out with hers upstairs and out on the deck. Separate parties probably would have been a better choice for them.

I can see that happening :P
Luckily for us, our cottage community is like another family and we have about 4 generations that gather a few times each summer for various parties/bonfires. It's such a special group of people and I love that my son gets to grow up in the next generation on the lake.
It's just another reason to get together and sip some sangria while partying under the stars

Those are super cute! I totally understand the 'must stop looking' mentality lol I have officially cut myself off looking at DIY stuff atleast until I get some of my huge list done lol
