Marc Topaz Orchestra - Anyone heard of them/seen them?

Hi Ladies!

So my wedding reception is in Tarrytown, NY and we are about to book this band from the NY/NJ area - The Marc Topaz Orchestra. We've looked at their website, spoken several times to Marc, and listened to a recent CD of theirs. They sound great and my sister has been to a wedding where they played and said the band made the entire wedding.

Here's the problem - right before we sign the contact, another band manager we had been talking to said a few not so nice things about Marc Topaz, which made us question them a little bit. We also can't find all that much on them and they aren't on the Knot (I feel like everyone/everything is listed on the Knot!), so I just wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with them. We want to be sure before we book them!

Any info is appreciated!!

    we used 747 Orchestra for our wedding.  They are AMAZINGLY GREAT!! Very high energy and not your typical wedding band 101.  Google them and you will see fab kudos.  Our guests did not leave the dance floor.

    We used Soul Revival for our wedding (and they were amazing!), so I don't know  about Marc Topaz but I just wanted to say this...I would question the band manager that bashed them not the band itself.  I met with a few vendors that did this and it was such a put off that I immediatly knew they weren't for me.  I think if you are good at what you do, then you shouldn't need to bash others to try at get business...it just seems not very nice.  I would go with your gut on this one.

    Hi! We used the Marc Topaz Orchestra for our wedding and we could not have been happier!  I am a harsh wedding band critic and I could not find one negative thing about this band.  Their sound is true to the CD, and sounds even better live.  All I can say is that Marc was very easy to work with, very helpful, and professional.  Even more than that he knows what he is doing and you can have total faith in him if you choose to use them.  I was turned off by some other bands I interviewed when many of them do not work off of your song requests.  The Marc Topaz Orchestra played almost every one of the songs I really wanted and the dance floor was packed as soon as they started playing.  I hope this helps!
