Is it really that rainy down there?

We're getting married on St Pete Beach in like 1.5 weeks, and the forecast has more thunderstorms than I want to see. Since I'm not there, please tell me these storms have been lasting 5 minutes and then blowing over.:)

Thanks!

  • My ceremony is outdoors also and I saw the same thing and started to freak out a little! It says it's supposed to rain everyday this week but it has yet to rain today....I'll keep you updated on how the rest of the week goes! :) Try not to stress, it's out of your control anyways. Easier said then done, I know :)

  • I would say the rain typically lasts for a little while and then moves on. It rained today for about 10 minutes.  Days when the rain lasts all day are few and far between.

  • What time is your wedding?  It usually starts raining between 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM where we are.
  • Awesome coraleetbwed, because that's exactly when I'm getting married outsideUndecided

It rains almost every afternoon during the summer, but not so often this time of the year.  Don't freak out yet.  This is NOT the rainy season in Florida.
  • :) Sigh of relief. Thanks girls. I know I should just get over it, but I think I've told myself to get over every other thing that went wrong, and this is the one thing I want to control!! Crazy, I know, but that's what this destination wedding is doing to my obsessive side.

  • As long as you're marrying the right guy, the rest just doesn't matter!
  • Florida rain is typically pretty quick... it'll last for about 15 mins or so, and then stop. Can't guarantee that it won;t be humid, but we rarely have days where it rains all day. Plus, they say rain on your wedding day is good luck!! :)

:):)  I still want my beach wedding, but thank you girls for everything you're saying. It just helps to hear what is ACTUALLY going on down there as opposed to the whackadoo  Accuweather forecast which says it's going to storm every other day.
