Heavy cake topper??

I met with our cake lady and told her we were getting one and that when it arrived we would email its dimensions so she'd be prepared. She's already expecting to put in supports for it. She hasn't been the best with email communication and so I haven't heard back from her yet. The size of it is fine (less than 6in diameter), but its weight is between 1.5-2lbs (its made out of carved glass instead of metal, plastic or accrylic).  So is their a weight limit to cake toppers? Thanks!

That sounds a little heavy to me, but it really depends on the cake.  If she says it is too heavy, you can ask her to make the top tier out of styrafoam.  The prongs would go through the fondant/buttercream and into the styrafoam.  This would give it plenty of support, and you wouldn't have to worry about it sinking or crumbling the cake.

I just visited my baker and she said as long as it is under 2 lbs it should be fine without support.  I have the same thing.  Good Luck
