PIP your invitations, please? (Edit: With PIP)

Apologies if we did this recently, but I'm curious as to people's text size and spacing, as well as the colors/theme/etc. on their invitations. I'm having some issues with my invitation but only with respect to the spacing/size of things. Any guidance would be helpful.

Oh and I can't post mine until I go home and take a photograph of the mockup (and I'm heading to the gym/yoga so it's a bit of a P&R) but I'll be back later to see what you guys have posted and to post mine!

Anyway, please PIP away!

Edited: I added my Invitation at the bottom.

  • I removed our full names and the address of the venue but here it is.
  • Here's mine:

Wedding Countdown Ticker "Don't marry the person you can live with, marry the person you can't live without."
  • Ours are very simple DIY invites. We have them in English and Spanish, with slightly different wording and spacing on each.

  • Thanks guys! I'll try to figure out how to get mine on here so you can advise on whether the text is too small. :)

  • Ok, so what I had to do was take a photo of the invitation and then the Information card at issue to show you guys what's going on. Sorry it's so tiny.

So, here's the issue. I wanted to delete the directions from the Information card because I feel like it's absolutely too crowded. My mom disagrees, insists we have the directions on the card, even though they'll be on the website (which is listed at the bottom of the Info card).

Do you guys agree with me or my mom? Are the directions necessary? Mind you, 98% of the people will be taking bus transportation that we're providing (which is listed at the top of the Info card), so the directions will not be relevant for nearly everyone.

  • @Bridetobe - Your invitations are so pretty! I agree with you on the directions. We aren't providing them in the invitations, b/c we also will have 90+% taking a shuttle from the hotels we have blocked. The directions are on our web site, the address is on the invite for ppl who may take cabs or put it in their GPS. I definitely think that should be enough!

  • I love you invitations.  I can't upload any pictures on this computer for some reason.  I would maybe put the directions on a separate card so there isn't so much going on at once.  My mom made me put the directions as well for the handful of old people that are invited that might drive themselves and who don't have a gps or internet.  Also my mom hates her gps and never follows it so she likes paper directions.

  • We just have the directions on the website since we are providing a shuttle.

That's what I want to do, too. There's no reason to make the Information card such a cluttered disaster if less than 10 of the 200 people will be driving. The rest will be on the bus we're providing.

My mom is being feisty about it, though, so perhaps we can put the directions on the back of the Info card. It just seems like a lot of info in the Invitation suite, since we also have the Reception card, the Brunch card, the RSVP card, and the Information card.

bridetobe i love your invites!! we haven't gotten ours back from our designer yet so I can't PIP, but I 100% agree with you about the directions. fiance and I have had this discussion too.

These days....nearly everyone has GPS, or at least googlemaps, so even if they are driving themselves, they probably aren't going to read every detail of your invitation to figure out how to get to your wedding.  Just my own personal thoughts....If something about finding your site is particularly difficult, it isn't a bad idea to put a sentence or two in there. We are probably going to end up adding some language in our insert card about where to park (there are about 4 different options and pricepoints for parking at our reception hotel), but probably not the detailed directions.
