Banquet Hall without carpet??

We haven't booked a venue yet but are leaning towards a mansion (amazing price and completely flexible!).  However, I thought it might be a good idea to give banquet halls a shot.  It's not our style at all but I think if we could find one without carpet (it's something my fiance absolutely HATES) it might be a good option to consider.  Does this exist?  I haven't seen any banquet halls without carpet in the dining area but if you know of any I'd greatly appreciate the advice!  Thanks :)

I don't know of any without carpet at all. I don't know if that exists in IL. That sounds like a Southern thing to me. May I ask why he is so against carpet?

I think he just doesn't like the look of it.  Probably because every banquet hall we've been to has had gawdy looking patterns/colors.  It's odd since he is the most laid back person about everything else.

Yeah, that's weird. As far as I know, all places will have some sort of high traffic carpet or carpet tile, so its barely noticeable, especially once filled with your tables and decor. Don't forget that you can also get a dance floor (included in most places I think) that would cover the majority of open floor space you would have.

I guarantee that no one will notice the carpet, aside from maybe your FI. There are far more important details that I would consider deal breakers over carpet, haha.

Agreed. No one will notice the carpet, and there is a good chance your FI won't notice it either on your wedding day.

How many people and what area do you want? Our venue had mostly wood floors and brick in the dinner space (sounds weird but it works), but it's a smaller place in the western burbs.

One of the rooms in Millrose Brewery in Barrington has pave brick floors......
http://www.millroserestaurant.com/room-sunsetpatio.asp but it is for a larger party (250).....

and,  at The Onion Pub in Barrington, although it does has some carpet, it is a solid color and I cannot imagine you would notice it in comparison to the rest of the room.......

The Abbington in Glen Ellyn doesn't have gawdy awkward carpet. They also have a beautiful wooden dance floor. I think you should check it out.

We're looking at about 100 people.  As much as I'd like to have something in the city, it's just not affordable.  I'll look into your suggestions, it'll give me something to do at work tomorrow :)  Jennifer, we're open to the burbs for sure.  We'd like to remain under an hr outside of the city though.  Thanks ladies!!!

You may want to check out Venuti's in Addison they are just off of 355 and Lake St. about 40 minutes from the city.  They are great very modern, marbel dance floor and entry way with a hugh staircase.  the carpet blends with the dance floor I love it.  this is where my wedding is going to be and I cant wait.  There is also The Cave in Rosemont that was my runner up venue very nice.  carpet and dance floor blend very nice. hope this helps best of luck.

Thanks Roxie.  I just sent a pricing inquiry :)  The carpeting does look better than other places I've seen.

The "Parlor ABC" room at European Banquets in Arlington Heights, IL is where we are having ours and it has nice hardwood floors!
