How to have a friend officiate our wedding in NH

We would love to ask our friend to officiate our upcoming wedding in NH. Any tips on how to start this process? Is it as simple as completing online applications? Any advice greatly appreciated!

Thanks,
Shannon

  • I'm not positive about whether it's just that simple or not, but definitely make sure its allowed by the county you live in to have a friend perform your ceremony. Its not legal everywhere. Just call the office where you would get your marriage license and they should ne able to answer all your questions! Good luck!

  • It all depends on the county you are getting married in and it may not be legal. Check with your county clerk to see what you need to do.

Getting ordained online is the simple part. We used the Universal Life Church Monastery ( http://www.themonastery.org/ ). Just need a name, email address, and address and it was free.

To make it legal where we are getting married, we had to file some paperwork with city, which we had to purchase from the church and pay a small fee. Took all of 10minutes.
