Heading to NOLA for tasting and The NOLA Bride's Lounge- can't wait!

We're heading to NOLA this weekend to finalize some wedding details (food tasting- yummy!)- can't believe it's only 79 days away!

We have 4 appointments booked for tomorrow, but the vendors are all meeting us at The Bride's Lounge!  How convenient!  Haven't been there yet, but it's supposed to be a "one stop shop"  for all things NOLA weddings.  I get overwhelmed by bridal shows, so it seems like the perfect solution.  Dear FI will be so happy.  He will probably think that all wedding planning is this easy (vendors come to you) and will want to know why I have been stressing out.... ha ha.  Will report back once I check it out!  Sounds awesome though!

We're going to check out Cafe Adelaide for bridal luncheon too, get cake pulls, second line umbrellas, etc- can't wait!

Will anyone else be there this weekend?  Good luck planning, ladies!

Happy Friday!

    Will do!  Have you been?

I'm heading down there this weekend too! How awesome to meet them all in one place - I'll be driving all over NOLA (cake tasting, caterer meeting, venue meeting).

I'll probably check out the bridal lounge - still looking for a few vendors.

Have fun!  Where are you doing your cake tasting?  What venues are you looking at?  Definitely check out Bride's Lounge!  I hear it's awesome!

    Enjoy!

I've already booked the Wax Museum but I'm finally going to actually see it in person and not just through photos/knottie reviews!

I've got a tasting at Haydels and the Royal Cakery and catering meeting with Benedicts, the Wax's preferred caterer.

Also taking e-pics Saturday morning! Busy weekend but fun.

And then Saturday night is my bday celebration - the original reason for the trip before I got engaged!

Chigirl- who did you get to do your engagment photos? I'm just being nosy since you posted about them (I'm using Sabree too).

We went with Royal Cakery, and got a couple "test cakes" and they we absolutely wonderful. and they looked beautiful. I can't wait for the actual ckae.

Sounds fun!  We're also using Royal Cakery- the cake was SO amazing and much cheaper than Houston wedding cake designers!

Enjoy your epics- they're so much fun!  Happy Bday, too!

I actually found a grad student photographer who wants to photograph people for free around the Quarter - which is awesome because I wasn't sure I'd find someone I could afford in so little time (just decided to do them this week). If for some reason I want more/different e-pics, I'm going to use Sabree when I come back for an early LSU football game.

So what did you think of the Bride's Lounge? I wasn't impressed - especially since they only had samples of John's Tuxedos, couldn't tell us prices of the fleur de lis sets for tuxedos or just the ties. Slightly frustrating...

I really liked it and found that it was helpful, but that may have just been because we had prescheduled meetings there (which was SO convenient).  We  decided to go with John's (they're amazing by the way- spent 2 hours after closing time with us on Sat), and I found that the selection of "extras" was helpful at the bride's lounge.  Ordered my hankies, umbrellas, and got information on the jewelry.

Emily is my coordinator, but I really tried to be objective so that I could report back to the board!  ;-).
I think it's most helpful if you're torn between vendors and want to see samples of their work without going to everyone's store.  I found it most helpful for big ticket things like photography and flowers, which they have many sample books for each.

If it helps, John's tuxedos has a  website with all of their cufflinks (is that what you meant by fleur-de-lis and ties?) and ties online....  johnstuxedos dot com
Not advertising, just trying to help!  The cuff links (with stays) were about $48.

    HTH!  Take care!

No, their line of fleur de lis vests and stuff. I've been to their website and are visiting them Sat. Emily is my planner too - when is your wedding?

I'm pretty sure we're heading over there this Saturday to pick out stuff! Our wedding is 12.11.10 at the St. Louis. Keep us posted as you check things off the list! I always find this board so helpful!

It is so very helpful!  I hope you like John's.  St. Louis was one of my top choices!  It will be so beautiful!

I feel like mine is coming up so quickly and I still have SO much to do!  Ah!  Oh well, we'll be just as married if all of the little details don't get done.  good luck!
