i've decided to get FI a nice men's watch as a wedding gift but have no clue what is a nice watch or where to go for said watch. any suggestions ladies?
I bought my FI a Kenneth Cole watch. He liked it but I have no idea whats a really good brand or what to look for. I just went by the looks and figured KC was a good brand. sorry I am no help.
I agree, how nice? What's the budget? My dear FI loves watches, but in a limited budget. You could get a Movado, which is on the nicer side of the budget friendlier watches. I think, at least. I also got him a Citizen, but it's more for casual wear. His eye is on the new brown leather watches that have a chocolate colored face. You can get any of these at Jareds, Macy's, etc.
DH and his father are watch fanatics. (Like borderline insanity...but I won't get into that)
Some nice watches at good price points were mentioned above Citizen and Seiko are good go-to's and their Eco Drive or Kinetic watches never need batteries, which is cool. For something a little higher end there is Movado, Tag Heuer, Hamilton. Omega is DH's fav but is very pricey.
I'm no expert on high end watches but I know that the internal movement and type/ # of jewels are critical to what separates a normal watch from a more elite status. Something to ask about probably when your out looking.
thank you for all the suggestions. i was thinking about getting him a tag heuer, but i personally didn't like the designs that i saw. i know he wants a silver/ metal band and a dark face. that's about it! budget is $1500
my FH has 2 Movado watches, a nice classic one and a sports watch. He really loves both of his watches (Tiffany he is a watch fanatic too). He liked his watches so much that he bought me a woman's Movado watch. I know they are on the higher end of prices, but I am a believer in the idea that you get what you pay for. I know the quality of mine is amazing, and there is a lifetime warrenty on all of the parts. My best advice is just do your research, google the different brands to see what people have said about them before!
