RSVP date is wrong on the RSVP cards, what do I do?

So, I've been super busy with work and our new house, so my mother's friend offered to print the invites for me. The problem is, I'm getting married on June 22, and she put the RSVP date for May 7, which is obviously way too early. I guess my mom had written the correct date down for her and she lost the paper so she just guessed. I need to change it, but I don't want it to look awful! I figured the easiest would be to write either a 1 or a 2 right before the 7 with a very fine tip pen, but there's not a lot of room. My sister suggested using white out (the tape-like kind) and writing in the correct date. I know it's not going to look great either way, but WWYD?

If she guessed the date, then the mistake is on her. I would ask her to redo them.

I would re do them, or just send them out early and go with it. I would not write on them or use white out.

I got the invites from michaels (BRIDES magazine kind), so buying 2 more packages just to get the RSVP cards isn't really possible. There is no way my mother's friend is going to pay for them....I guess she did hers that early so she thought it would be NBD. If it was something major like the address of the ceremony or our names were spelled wrong I would definitely purchase more, but for something as small as this, it's not really in my budget.

Based on this, I agree that Vista Print sounds like your best bet. You can get very cheap postcards as redo response cards or you could order a box of business cards that you could use as inserts with the correct date. (Maybe something along the lines of "Please excuse our mistake. Kindly reply by <<correct RSVP date />>.") You could probably get what you need for under $20 - possibly even $10.

ETA: Writing in the correct date by hand seems like you would still be getting responses a month or more ahead of your wedding. This could make an accurate headcount difficult. I'd really try to find a way to correct the date to whichever date in June works best with when your venue needs a final headcount.

I'd re-do the response cards using VistaPrint. It will be extremely inexpensive, and as long as you stick to a simple design and similar font, no one's really going to notice if they aren't an exact match, I don't think. RSVP cards are usually a lot simpler in their design than the invitations themselves anyway, from what I've seen.

You could also try local companies that print business cards, size doesn't have to be much different. You could also by blanks and print them yourself on your home computer. Take a few days and shop around you might be surprised how cheap you can find them. Even if it’s not perfect new ones will look better then writing the new date in.

Another vote for Vista Print and if there is anything else you can find free there that you like go for it. I think they are doing flat rate shipping now so have fun ordering.

Is the May date going to be terribly early? In one of the magazines they suggested setting the response date two weeks after the invites go out so that people will respond promptly instead of setting them aside. And if people are still undecided until closer to the date then they will send them in when they know! That's just how I see it, but I could be wrong. The other suggestions make sense if you chose to change them. Good luck!
