Happy Monday

Hi All!

It's monday- blah. Everyone have a good weekend?

FI and I finally agreed on a first dance song- I won't give up by Jason Miraz...I'm excited!

Any plans for the evening?

Re: Happy Monday

  • That was our first dance song, too : I've got class today, but thinking about skipping the first one though because I feel like crap. Had a good day with H yesterday... I think that was the most time we've spent together since he started working nights.
  • I love that song. Today I'm making FI's favorite. Crockpot chili.

We got a call yesterday from our landlord to let us know he's showing our condo tonight.  So we had to scramble yesterday afternoon to make the place look presentable.  We always keep it clean, but with miscellaneous wedding things laying here and there and a ton of boxes piled up (since we're in the middle of packing), we wanted to make sure everything was neat.

I also have to mention that I'm pretty excited that I can finally say that my wedding is next week!  I feel like it took forever to get here!

I'm the same way! I was telling FI on the way to work today(we car pool since we work in the place.) It's surreal. I'm doing all kinds of last minute things and It's just getting really exciting! If we could get ahold of out venue coordinator that'd be awesome!(it's stressing me out)

  • We ran a lot of errands this weekend, met with our kitchen designer, bought and began putting in shelf liner for the new cabinets.

Congratulations!!!  Slow down and enjoy this.  I was so rushed running errands a couple of days before our wedding that I left the front door to the house wide open.  DH thought something had happened to me.

<div>Thanks!  I locked myself out of our condo a few weeks ago, while rushing around running errands.  I'm actually pretty calm at this point and I have nothing left to do besides some miscellaneous beauty appointments.  I definitely need to get it in my head to slow down and enjoy our wedding day though.  My shower was a complete blur, so I can't imagine how crazy our wedding day will be!</div>

It's said so much that you tend to ignore it but it really is true that your wedding day will go by in a flash.  Make sure you take a few minutes to just step back and enjoy what is going on around you.

I love crockpot chili or rather crockpot cooking in general. I'm not sure what I did the last time I made it because it was a little more soupy than chili should be and was way too spicy for me. I didn't use any type of receipe, I just kinda threw stuff together that I like in chili and I thought it tasted good.

<div>It seems to taste so much better when you just throw it together.  Only problem is, it's so hard to recreate it later!  I made chili a few years ago that was AMAZING.  To this day, I haven't been able to come close to that chili.  It's pretty frustrating!</div>

  • So far it's a pretty mellow Monday.  I had a chiropracter appt after work but that's about it.

Oh I know. I hate following receipes when I cook because it seems to take something out of the process. My dad is such an amazing cook/baker/chef that he can get away with not following receipes when he makes pies and such. I remember one Thanksgiving my cousins and cousin's wives came to my parents house to "learn" how to make my dad's pumpkin pie and he told them they can write it down but what he was putting in there that day is what he was "feeling" that day and the next time, he might use more cinnamon and less nutmeg and what not. He's never made the same receipe ever and all of his food turns out amazing!!! I haven't mastered that in baking but am pretty confident in throwing a dinner dish together and just throwing whatever in. I have a few dishes I know what I like in them but how much always changes.

  • I had a pretty lazy weekend, and then I got sick last night. So I'm currently laying in bed, watching seasons of Glee, as I'm just now starting to watch it, and trying to ignore the crazy loud music that the people in the apartment nextdoor are playing.
  • Flew in from South Padre first thing and was at work by 1. How can I wake up 60 feet from the beach and then be expected to be productive at work???
