XP: Will this look OK?

My wedding colors are black, white, and red.  My BMs are wearing black dresses with a white sash around the waist.  They will be carrying red and white rose bouquets.  One of my BMs mentioned last week that she'll probably be freezing in a strapless dress and might like some coverage.  So I was thinking that for one of the BM gifts, I could buy them all a cute red shrug or crop cardigan to wear with their dresses, then they can wear it again later.  I'm just concerned about how a cotton cardigan will look next to a satin dress.  So what do you think?

    I actually like the mixture of soft/cotton fabric against shiny/satin.  They can always take them off for dancing and whatnot.  

    The cardigan you picked out looks cropped and fitted enough so that it won't look sloppy or anything.

    I don't think it'll look sloppy or anything, but I'm not a fan of mixed fabrics. Just my opinion, though.

    I outfit choirs and band members with dresses kind of like that with shrugs and stuff - and I've found that it usually looks better if the fabrics are the same (for the main body of the shrug and the main body of the dress).  I've seen some with crepe fabric or chiffon fabric with a satin trim, and a mix fabric in that way usually looks good, but you need to have the SAME mixed fabric on both garments.

    Just my 2 cents!

    I'd probably try to not mix the fabrics. I am just not a big fan of how it looks together, especially when you'll be having pictures taken. That said, I like the style of the shrug!

    I like it! I don't know a lot about fabrics though. When someone asks me what fabric something is, I have to look on the tag! Haha.

    I dont think mixing the fabrics will look bad. You might want to look at them both together though. Also, the pictures will all be done at the beginning so I would imagine they would put it on after.

    I'm assuming your wedding is inside, right?  My girls did just fine in sleeveless dresses and I was fine (hot, even) in a strapless.  I don't think the shrugs are necessary.  If they feel they'll need something for in between times, they can bring their own.

    It's sweet that you're thinking of them, but it's one those things that I think just isn't all that important.

    The girl that mentioned it WILL be cold inside.  She's about 5'7" and about 95-100 pounds.  She is kinda frail and ALWAYS cold.  I think, though, that I'll probably just get the satin shawl from David's Bridal for them to wear with their dresses, if anything.
