Canceling contracts

So, due to my change in wedding plans I am canceling my contracts with a couple of my vendors. There is one particular vendor that I would have kept on, had I not had problems contacting them. I have been leaving messages and emailing them for a month now, and have not heard back. I finally left a message that I am canceling with them. I emailed them that I am canceling and I have now faxed them a cancelation notice.

Do you all think that is good enough? How do you cancel with someone you can't get ahold of?

That is crazy that it's taking so long to get ahold of someone. If you don't hear anything in a few days you need to stop by their office (if they have one). Make sure you get something in writing confirming it has been cancelled.

I would read the contract - it may have some language regarding cancellation and you'll want to make sure you comply. Also, I would mail a copy of the contract along with a cancellation notice by certified mail so someone has to sign for it
