Keeping the Unity Candle a glow

So I ordered a 12" (tall) square candle to serve as our unity candle.
I'm looking for some kind of hurricane (prefferably with no bottom) to cover the candle(s) with so they dont blow out (outdoor wedding)

I'm having trouble finding anything tall enough to cover the candle. Anyone have any other ideas, seen anything at a fav store?
Also; should I try to cover both the unity candle & the two canlde sticks?

Thanks!

Re: Keeping the Unity Candle a glow

  • Have you checked out Hobby Lobby? They have a ton of vases and other glassware that may help. I've also seen brides use lanterns instead of vases to help.

  • I hate to say to dump your idea, but have you considered doing something other than a unity candle?  We're having a beach wedding and plan to unity sand ceremony instead where we both pour sand into a vase.  Since we're from different places (HB, California and Japan) - we're using sand from our hometown beaches.

I've heard of other non-candle unity ceremonies too that might be easier outdoors.

    Good luck!  :)
