  You can't not allow smoking at all. It's going to happen.

  
  

  Make a little sign to put near the entrances of the tent to indicate no smoking in the tent. Then create a little designated area outside the tent with chairs and ashtrays (coffee cans or dollarstore ones will work fine). Smokers are used to having to go elsewhere to smoke, it's not outcasting them any more than having them go outside at a restaurant. It's not like they'll be outside for the entire time, just a few minutes here and there.

  I've been thinking about this too....I hate smoking and don't want anyone doing it near the reception area. I'm going to talk to my venue about it and see how/where they usually designate a smoking area...I suggest talking to your venue about it, I'm sure they've had brides with the same worry as you before and they may even have specifications about anyways.

  we are going to designate an area. Away from guests. And we are going to take buckets and fill them with litter and stick them in the area the smokers are able to smoke.
