Hair stylist payment question.

I'm looking for a hair stylist for my wedding and the one I'm thinking of using I just found out wants to keep my credit card information on file. Is that normal? I don't have much time to find someone else. I have been talking to the stylist for awhile now so I don't want to just back out. I also went to school with her so I don't think I have a reason not to trust her.

Re: Hair stylist payment question.

  • How does she keep your credit card info on file?  If you go into the salon, doesn't she just swipe the card?
  • She doesn't have a salon. She just travels to weddings to do hair and makeup. As far as I know she just keeps the info but I can pay with a check a week before the wedding. I'm just concerned about after the wedding and I pay her. What happens to my info then?

[QUOTE]In Response to Re:Hair stylist payment question.: That's actually a violation of the terms set forth by Visa and MasterCard. You are not allowed to physically store full credit card numbers or the CCV number on the back. I'd find someone else.

I agree with this!  :O  Can't you leave a cash/check deposit with a contract?  That is what I will be doing with many of my vendors.
  • I'm a hairderesser and sometimes travel to do weddings and that is not normal. Find a new stylist or see if you can pay her in cash after she does your hair.
