Tux Recs

Anybody have any recs? We need to have stores in OKC, Dallas, and Houston.

How early do we need to get these reserved for a June wedding? Do you think I can do it from Oklahoma, or should I go to the specific store we plan to pick them up from in Dallas?

al's formal wear or mens wearhouse are all over the place -you can pick the suit out online most places only require you to have two weeks notice to get the tuxes

Have you thought about buying? We are going with International Suit Warehouse and I believe they have locations everywhere. Its $99 dollars for everything with a Tux (If you choose a basic tux). I think we have decided to go with suits but the same thing applies.

We used Men's Warehouse--Ben's brother ordered his in Boston but picked it up and returned it here.  Ben went first with his groomsmen and his brother used his name and order # but got fitted in Boston.  My understanding is they don't order your tuxes until like a couple of weeks before the wedding so just go when it's convenient--like even if you went today they wouldn't order them until late May is what I've heard.

We had a great experience with Mens' Wearhouse.  They messed up a few things with Bill's tux but they had it for the wedding.  We didn't use the store that we arranged to have them picked up from and it worked fine.  Bill's dad neglected to tell the store in BR that he wanted it delivered to Dallas so he had to bring his with him.  You just need to make sure that all the guys know to say which store for delivery.  Being the planner I am, we did it several months ahead.  I would say you want to meet with them in March to pick everything out.  The guys will be given a drop dead date.  After that, the price goes up quite a bit.

Thank goodness for the "drop dead date"--that will motivate them.

PS--Stephie I read the review in your bio

We are using Tuxedo Junction.  They are similar to Men's Wearhouse in that you can be fitted anywhere, and pick the tuxes up wherever is convenient for you.

We did this for our May wedding around Christmas, but there was no need to do it that early.  Like PP said, they don't even order them until closer to the date.  The deadline for the GM to be fitted is something like 2 weeks before the wedding.

FI used them when he was a GM in another wedding and everything went well.

We had good luck with Al's Formalwear, but I know that they've gotten mixed reviews on here before.  We used the locations in Frisco, Denton, and Fort Worth and we didn't have any problems.  Also one of the groomsmen was in Korea at the time and he was able to fax his measurements over to the Frisco location and they took care of everything.  We didn't have any problems with missing pieces or items that were sized incorrectly.

I think most tux places are hit or miss.  Just pick the one that is the most convenient and hope for the best.

I agree. I've heard both good and bad reviews on Al's, Men's Wearhouse, and Tuxedo Junction.

I agree on the hit or miss factor. We did Men's Wearhouse- had really bad experience with the one in Frisco by Stonebriar but there were no problems with people being from all different areas- just lots of problems with fit- BAD problems with fit and poor service. Make sure the guys go there AS SOON AS they say they are ready so you have a little time to deal with the issues.

We used Men's Warehouse and they were great! We actually worked out a deal with them and paid full rental price for my DH and the rest of the men in the wedding party got a huge discount as long as they reserved their tuxes more than 30 days in advance.

We did Mens Wearhouse and had a good experience. We got a coupon from a bridal and the tuxes were only $60 for the groomsmen. They did have problems finding us in their computer system a few times but other then that it was cheap and simple.
