Come Critique My STDs!

I know, I'm late to the STD party, but I'm super excited to finally get them out there. We were going to wait so we could use our engagement pictures but our photographers live in TN so it was just becoming a hassle and we decided to do our own thing. This was my inspiration: clicky, but my FI and I made it ourselves (mostly FI). They're going to be printed on a 5x7 matte card.

LOVE the picture and the post card back! The thing I don't like is the "He asked" down the side. I would probably put it horizontally across the top.

Also, I'm not crazy about the "Save the date" font...I feel like there are a lot of fonts going on...what if you made it the same font that "...are getting married..." is written in, but bolded?

That picture is just too perfect for words...was it staged or was that when it was actually happening? Whoever took the picture did a great job.

Just one question, is it me or is your ampersand upside down? Not sure it looks like it's on it's side either...?

I love this!! I agree the fonts should be the same on the postcard side. But other than that perfect

Ok, THANK YOU: I didn't like the 'he asked' down the side either, that was FI's doing. He said he 'didn't want it to look like everyone else's'. It's the main reasons I decided to post it and get feedback.

And you could be right about the font for 'save the date', I wanted a lot of different fonts so it would be kind of eclectic and vintagey, but it could be too much.

The picture was taken by us when he proposed, I bought a new lense and we went to the beach to test it out. We decided to take a picture of ourselves with my tripod and a timer so I set it up and was running to get in the picture when he dropped on one knee. I turned to him to ask what the heck he was doing and he had the ring out. Honeslty the most surprised I've ever been in my life.

The ampersand is right side up, same as "she said yes", it's just a very swirly ampersand.

Ahh gotcha.. the actual ampersand is smaller, and bigger part is the swirl. I was looking at it the other way around, as a whole I guess. Lol nevermind

That looks great! Love the vintagey feel, especially the design on the back. Agree w/ everyone else about the fonts & "He asked" thing.

And don't feel bad, our STDs aren't even designed yet, let alone printed or mailed out! I need to get on that!

I agree with PPs. I'd switch the location of the "He Asked" part and I'd change the font of the date on the back. Other than that, I love it! So much better than ours which are super ugly (but were fiance's ONE project, so I couldn't say I hated them).

I love the photo, the vintage effect, the postcard look on the back!
I agree with the wording as other PPs.

I was just in SF last weekend visiting a friend! She's a cello player and has her own wedding quartet (or any combo) if you need music!

That picture is unbelievable.... that's the Golden Gate bridge, right? LOVE IT

I may be in the minority, but I actually really like the "He asked" running down the side... it gives the picture a nice framing quality. My only other recommendation would be to put "Save the Date" where it says "Postcard" and keep that really nice, bold font at the top. Just my opinion!

Looks great!!! I agree with the PPs about the font. I had to change our invitation font for similar reason- it kinda looked like there was too much going on. You should match the post card side font!

I love how he proposed! Such a lucky girl to have a picture of the proposal!!
