When to fire a vendor?

Hi Ladies-

I can be pretty quick to judge when it comes to people providing services for the wedding. I am not willing to tolerate much in the way of being jerked around. I've been pleased with my hotel, church, and photographer so far. My coordinator, however, has had "email trouble" and has been really bad about getting back to me. I regularly check my spam and she does not appear in it. She takes more than a week to get back to me, and when I call, her voicemail box is full. I am an OOT bride, so I only interviewed her on the phone. My mom met her in person and liked her enough to give her the deposit (half) of the cost of services.

Long story short, at what point do I decide to write her off and consider booking a new coordinator? I know some vendors kind of blow you off until it gets closer to your wedding, but there is definitely a point at which you need to call them out on it. I am curious what that point is. 6 months before the wedding? I don't know.

Thanks.

I know you're anxious about everything coming together well, but this far out there is not much that needs to be etched in stone.  Do you have a contract with your coordinator or anything in writing that states what she does when and what information she needs from you at what times?  If not, it might be worth writing to her and asking her to write back with a timeline so you would know what to expect.

Whoever said it was supposed to be happily ever after is a big fat liar.

Is she a day of coordinator or a wedding planner? A wedding planner or designer should be in contact with you about everything, but a day of will just come in at the end.

I'm having the same issue. My coordinator hired an assistant and she suuucks. We've been trying to nail down the caterer for months now and I'm getting very frustrated. We have about 5 and a half months. I'm about to call her out on it this week.

I am trying to book a wedding coordinator, do you mind me asking who you all are dealing with?  I would feel the same way and be very frustrated!  Have you tried to express your concerns and see if that helps.  Otherwise if you can afford to drop her and get someone new it may be the best so you are not stressed.

We are 8 months out, so we have time, but she was hired for full coordination. My mom signed the contract and part of what I've been emailing her for is a copy of the signed contract and she can't seem to get her act together. If you want to know who she is, PM me. I think it's kind of early in the game to name names here and blast her. Maybe I'm a doormat, but I'm trying to err on the side of nice until I'm pushed too far here.

who is the coordinator? I recommend Belle Soiree' if you are going to switch. depending on who your current coordinator is, the prices may be in the same price range!!!

Can you PM me with who you're using?  I want to make sure to avoid them!
