Honeymoon meltdown--please help.

Hi everyone,

So I am having a little bit of a melt down about planning my honeymoon. Yes, I know no matter where I go We'll have fun  but I have been going over it and over it for over a week now and I feel like I am just going in circles.

We decided to go to Riviera Maya, Mexico for our honey and we originally booked Secrets Capri with an agent (who I loved by the way) becouse my fi wanted to go somewhere not too crowded. But when we looked online, it looked a little boring. I think I/We preffer something with more entertianment/multiple pools so theres a change in sceneries. Here are the choices

Royal Hideaway Playcar
Iberostar Grand Paraiso  Hotel
Secrets Capri - our original
El Darado Royale Resort
Now Saphire Rivera

I have been looking at travelocity for so long i am so confused. If you know anything about any of the above places PLEASE share..

Thanks

What about Secrets Maroma? I hear that's one of the best! We are going in October...but we were between Royal Hideway El Dorado and Secrets...Those looked the best to me. Good luck!

Do you want all inclusive? I'm been to two great All inclusive resorts in Riviera Maya.. The Grand Palladium and The Barcelo.
Both are part of a complex, but the Palladium complex was much bigger. There were tons of pools, and you could use everything at all of the resorts - they have a tram that brings you around. The spa area there was AMAZING.
If you are interested, I can give you more details, let me know.

FI and I went to Now Jade in Riveria Maya last September.  We booked through Cheap Carribean and went for 5 nights for like $850, all inclusive.  We had an AWESOME time.  Literally within the first hour we met so many other awesome couples to hang out with, but we also spent a lot of time alone at dinners and on our balcony in the room.  I really had no complaints other than the STRONG sun which put us out of commission for a few days.  My best advice is to tip big (ie $20 on day 1) off the bat and you get treated like royalty the remainder of your stay.  It was such a nice place!!

I've never been, but I've heard great things about Secrets Maroma and Excellence Riviera Cancun. Both look awesome!

I've been to Royal Hideaway Playacar and Secrets Capri.  Also not on your list in Riviera Maya - I've been to Fairmont Mayakoba, The Royal in Playa del Carmen and Valentine Imperial Maya.

Our of the 5 hotels - we loved Royal Hideaway Playacar! Everything was top of the notch - 5 star/5 diamond (I think). The food and restaurants were very nice for an all-inclusive hotel. The location was great. There was a strip mall across the street w/ little shops and vendors. When the sun started going down, we would leave the beach and walk across the street to browse before heading back to the room. It was nice because it gave you some where else to go and you didn't feel like you were confined to the resort.  When we went, which was a yr and a half ago, there were sandbags on the beach. This didn't bother us but if it would bother you, check out recent reviews on tripadvisor. When I was doing research, most reviews made mention of them at the time.

Secrets Capri had great value - I think we booked round trip airfare and 8 days for $1,000.  It didn't compare to the Royal Hideaway though.

Our friends went to Secrets Maroma and didn't give it great reviews. They said most people staying at the hotel were on their honeymoon.

Feel free to PM me specific questions on any of the resorts that I mentioned!  Good luck :)

We stayed at Secrets Maroma and loved it. The service was awesome, the food and drinks were great and they were very accomodating. We paid 3800 (including airfare) for 11 nights and had an ocean view suite. I can't comment on the others, as I haven't been to them but I would highly recommend Secrets Maroma.

I'm staying at Secrets Maroma for 8 nights. How the heck did you get 11 nights for $3800 including airfare? Were you preferred club and what dates did you go? Thanks. Sorry to pry but that's an awesome price
