Bridesmaid lunch ideas

So I'd like to have a lunch for my BMs before the wedding - the ceremony is at 5 but we're doing pictures beforehand, so dinner is being served at 6:30. Lunch will probably happen at 1 when those of us who choose to go to the salon are done and before the photographer gets there to take getting ready photos.

So now that you have a timeline, what would you suggest serving? There is one vegetarian in the group. I need something that won't be heavy or cause indigestion, but won't leave them famished until 6:30 either - I know all those photos and the pre-ceremony nerves make for a long day. Any suggestions?

ETA: Spelling.

I'm a big fan of wraps and veggies for lunch (she says while chowing down on a cheese burger).

(and a chocolate shake.  It has been one of those days)

  • Sandwiches are always good, and it shouldn't be too difficult to provide a veggie option there.  You might also try to provide some crudites or other non-messy snacks to tide them over during photos.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
  • I ordered Panera for everyone to eat in the suite.  We had 5 different types of sandwiches, chips, and a big salad.

  • We are just ordering sandwiches and a fruit tray from Hy-Vee for all of the BMs to eat in the suite at the hotel just before getting dressed.  Something light that won't break the bank!
  • I ended up at Noodles and Co. with all of the women that got their hair done at the salon. There was one right across from the hotel. I didn't plan this though; we all just decided to go and everyone paid for themselves.

  • We just went and picked up subway on the way from the salon while heading to the hotel

  • My mom made finger sandwiches for us and had a big fruit and veggie tray for us as well.
  • We decided to each bring somethig we like and surprise everyone at the time of lunch.  It turned out prety nice; we had finger food, pastry, fruits and lemonade.

  • My family is big on having 5 small meals a day so we are always snacking on something healthy. Since me and my crew will be doing setup in the morning we are planning on smoothies and throwing in some carbs and protien with toast and eggs to get us started out right. Then for the afternoon we will have fruit & veggies with dip out and some sandwiches so whenever anyone gets hungry they can snack on something. Just make sure that there is plenty of bottled water or juice around because you don't want anyone in the bridal party getting dehydrated and fainting mid-ceremony! Ask your girls and see what they want to eat and drink thats my other advice.
