I wanted to write my own I guess if it really comes down to it, and I freak out then I might just have the traditional ones...FI said he wanted to write his own for sure, so I guess I feel bad not doing my own?
I knew that I wouldn't be able to write my own. I would get too emotional with it, and FI well, he really doesn't want to. I personally like when people write their own. Its more personal.
FI REALLY doesn't want to write our own vows. I was adamant that he should, but just now I thought of this instead... how about we write our own vows, but instead of saying them out loud in front of everyone, we just read them to ourselves. We'll say the traditional vows, but then will always have those that we wrote to each other as well.

Aw, I really like that. Especially since I don't know if I'd be able to get through 'em!
The officiant (who I also one of my moms best friends) emailed me a bunch of vows she's done in the past and we're picking our favorite parts of each to compile our own. Like one set said something about "my best friend" and I love the thought of that being in vows so we picked the phrase to help formulate ours.
We're also writing our own but haven't started them. Honestly that's probably one of the last things I'll do. I'm a little nervous about it but I'm sure I'll know what I want to say on the day. I plan to keep it pretty short and sweet, anyway.

I was thinking the same thing. I'll probably write them a week or two before the wedding. It will be so close and I feel like my emotions will be running high, but that I'll probably come up with the best vows during that time. We'll see... :)
